I've visited the Hed'On Inn a few times since its opening just over a year ago and have always had good things to say about it. Yes, it's quite basic and lacks the purpose-built-pub element but the staff are always friendly, as are the customers. The Hed'On Inn is a brilliant micro pub. A cosy no frills bar dedicated to a good selection of hand-pulled cask conditioned real ale. There is also an excellent selection of about a dozen different ciders. If you want to try a few you can have three thirds for the price of a pint, a great way to try the range on offer.
