Once again I am writing a rare review. Hen and Dots was incredible, the cakes are to die for... but I digress. The staff at Hen and Dot are very polite and professional, helpful and very good. Back to the cakes... Oh... um... mmm... Delightful is just one way to put it. Another would be... DO NOT VISIT IF YOU CARE ABOUT YOUR DIET... But seriously forget the diet for a day and GO! Everything looked delicious, the cake I had was yum - I'm trying to down play it not to be over the top - Ourselves and our friends had great refreshments in lovely surroundings. Following this we had a lovely walk beside the River Wye leaving our vehicle at the Hen and Dot car park which they were happy for us to do. All in all it was a great experience and it took all my will power (and the fact that the cafe was closed when we returned) not to go back for another slice. Thanks to all at Hen and Dot Cafe - We'll be back and back and back and...

I recently visited Hen and Dot Cafe in Ross-on-Wye and had a delightful experience. The wild boar sausage roll, accompanied by chutney and a side salad, was exquisite. Paired with a smooth latte and a piece of lime blueberry blondie, it made for a perfect meal. The cafe offers plenty of seating with beautiful scenery, providing a peaceful atmosphere to enjoy coffee and cake. The staff were friendly, and the overall ambiance was welcoming. It's a lovely spot for anyone looking to relax amidst the stunning Wye Valley surroundings.

Went for the afternoon tea today and absolutely loved it! Everything we ate was delicious (the wild boar sausage rolls and lemon posset were particular favourites on our table!) and perfectly portioned. We've been for lunch/tea and cake a number of times and it is always fantastic. If you're in the area, definitely stop in!

Such a beautiful place to visit on a sunny day. Beautiful surroundings with wide reaching views. Unfortunately the food and service do not match the fantastic surroundings. Bacon rolls with butter ordered and initially were taken to the wrong table but when they arrived eventually were un buttered. The other two of our party ordered fruit scones with butter and jam. After waiting for what seemed an eternity we enquired as to how much longer they were going to be and were told they’d been given to another table. When we did eventually get them they were plain scones and not the fruit ones we had ordered. Our hot chocolates were ordered without marshmallows and then arrived with them. I would say maybe this was just an off day but unfortunately it has been the same on both...

What a massive disappointment. Went last year and it was brilliant and that’s why we decided to come back again but an absolute letdown from the start. Father Christmas was amazing again but the grotto was outside this time and it was so cold but I think the biggest letdown was the staff and the cafe. The staff obviously didn’t want to be there. The food portions were so small the jacket potatoes were children’s sizes and to top it all off, they turn the heating off while we were eating and are two small children started to complain about being cold. Won’t be...
