Very lovely flat white! Although the person making my coffee was using a big pitcher to make two flat whites, the second flat white had just been filled with only half of the frothy milk and the person was going to steam some more milk to top it of. I objected and wanted a fresh one made : if you are a barista you use a small pitcher for flat white or you know your measurements when it come to milk, you do not top of the milk, in my opinion that’s wrong. As you pay good money for a flat white you want it to be made properly and not slapped on. The flat whites were delicious.
Shame that it doesn’t allow dogs in as we were forced to take away our coffees with our elderly parents when there was loads of space inside and that they have hard floor. There was no space on the few outside seats. It always upset me when well behaved dogs are not allowed, it really puts a damper on things and doesn’t attract further visits, which is a real shame because this place...
Read moreLovely place, bit expensive for the quality not being quite there. It was 7.95 for the cumberland sausage and poached egg sandwich which of course I didn't mind paying but as you can see from the photo it was a sausage cut into quarters and they used 1/2 a sausage. The salad was OK but was pretty much lettuce with a bit of balsamic on in. The roll was actually amazing, really soft and tasted very fresh. We also grabbed a cinnamon swirl and it was lovely, very good and very fresh.
The cold brew coffee and the iced mocha we had were so so. We didn't try the hot drinks but we have had a coffee here last year and it was fine.
Everyone seems to come here for their coffees. I can see why, It is a lovely place to be, the piano, the books, the view over the marina it's cosy and trendy. I think they should not drop their prices as some people suggest but the offer value by providing quality.
The roll I had wasn't worth 7.95. It could have been with little work....
Read moreStaff were friendly and helpful. The food was slight letdown… kids bolognese was described by my child as “school lunch”. Just to mention that my child is on pack lunches at school but she did try once the spaghetti at school and she never wanted to try school food ever after. On my opinion, the bolognese would of be good if actually had much more tomato sauce in it…. It tasted fine but it was just dry spaghetti with a bit of mince in it. Spaghetti and pasta need more sauce. ( I’m half Italian btw.) And if you add a small bowl of veggie sticks as a side, that would be a kids lunch winner. My beef sandwich was a surprise…. I didn’t expect to end up trying to chew on a steak between tow peaces of bread…. The flavor and the ingredients were in good balance, however if the steak was thinly sliced, that would of be my favorite sandwich( with some...
