Poached eggs on 2 slices of real bloomer bread accompanied by baked beans was BRILL! Eggs cooked to perfection...runny when broken Two pots of tea as the meal was that good! Staff very friendly and payment was interesting as their is a paypal machine their which accepts your cards.
I have found other cafes only accept cash and in this day and age its very archaic especialy when you have to leave a cafe to go and get cash from whole in the wall nd go back to pay your bill.
I know the card companies charge too big a fee for these small businesses but if they were to put a few pence more on their popular selling items they could recoup this and not loose customers as I wont go back to somewhere that doesnt take a card no matter HOW...

We waited patiently for a table to become available. When two did, the waitress walked past us several times but never once acknowledged us or offered to get an extra chair for our party of 3. But instead, we had lunch in what is probably the best cafe in Whitehaven! We both had meat pie, peas and gravy with a side of fresh, homemade chips. Absolutely delicious!!
