The word "Generous" in the name is echoed in the quantity of food presented. The staff are very welcoming and friendly and the menu offers something for everyone. We were in a party of 15, so I took everyone's drink and food order and placed the order at the bar under one table number. Ordering was quick and easy and we were provided trays to carry the drinks back to the table. A minute or so after the food order was placed a member of staff approached us just to confirm everything on the order, which was a nice touch. A short while after, the food started to be delivered to the table. Wow! Plate after plate after plate, with no delays. All of us had our food, totally correct, piping hot and perfect. The quality of the food was fantastic, nobody could complain about anything. Also, even though we ordered alcoholic drinks as well as soft drinks, the cost was still only about £10 a head. Well, where do I start… firstly what a FANTASTIC pub!! We booked our works Christmas party here table of 16. This was also on a busy trading evening, as it is . Let alone our party! The pub has such a cosy and welcoming ora. Beautifully decorated due to the Christmas season. The staff are so welcoming and friendly, they can’t do enough for you. The food is absolutely delicious, hot tasty and well presented! The staff and chief catered for my mother who is vegan/vegetarian. My mum even said this is the best Christmas dinner she’s ever had!!! All our work colleagues said, what a beautiful pub! And honestly outstanding food. I would recommend anyone to the huntsman. It’s shame other pubs don’t provide this service!!! All starters, mains and desserts we could not fault! We will be definitely be booking here next festive season! Can’t recommend...

Food was awful, all came out completely different times so some were finished before some started. I ordered drinks and food at the bar and then the person serving me walked off to deal with a complaint so I went back to my table thinking she would bring the drinks over. My teenage son was moaning he was thirsty so went and asked where our drinks are, I then went straight up after him where the lady serving said “I thought I gave you the drinks” I said no you were dealing with a complaint?? And then she said “well in future if you have a complaint we need to speak to an adult not a child” in such a rude manner. I was confused as we weren’t complaining he just asked where are our drinks and I was right behind him?? The food was horrendous, lady serving behind the bar and delivering foot to tables had a dirty hoody on and unkept hair. Not a great...
