Went to visit today with a friend and our 2 year old girls.
We ordered traditional English breakfast and asked for some swaps 1 pork sausage instead of the black pudding. My friend asked for 1 pork sausage instead of the tomato and black pudding. Lady behind the bar taking the order said she will go and check if kitchen staff can do this. She came back and said kitchen staff don’t do swaps; I asked if it was just pork sausage that it can’t be swapped for or everything, she said she thinks it’s everything.
I thought this was ridiculous, no apology and no valid explanation as to why they can’t stick two additional pork sauces on the pan instead of the black pudding !
We ordered tomato pasta for the girls.
We waited 40 minutes before the food arrived by which time people around us who ordered after had their food. I had to go ask when it’s be arriving and they said it’ll be literally 5 minutes. We weren’t given an apology or explanation as to why it took so long. The girls had both fell asleep by the time arrived and it wasn’t touched.
Upon getting my breakfast I noticed there was a black hair on the edge of the egg. As much as I was annoyed and angry, I was hungry, so I cut the end bit of and ate the food.
A young lad came over and asked if everything was ok with the food. I said there was a hair on my egg which I’ve cut but decided to eat as it took so long coming out. He looked at it and stumbled and didn’t know what to say and came out with “I’m sorry about that, shall I remove that from the table”. I just said yeah. No offer of discount or refund for the dish or the fact that the childrens dish went to waste. I was so annoyed by the service I didn’t think it was worth asking if the pasta could be packed for takeaway.
Really really unhappy with the service in this place. Customer service appalling. Food wait time appalling. Having a hair on the food appalling.
Staff that I encountered need to be trained for customer service skills and how to deal with unhappy customers.
Last time I’ll be eating...

I recently had the pleasure of visiting The Mill House kids playground with my partner and our 16-month-old baby girl. From the moment we stepped through the doors, we were greeted with a warm and welcoming atmosphere. The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful, and they immediately made my daughter feel at ease.
The playground itself is spacious, clean, and well-maintained. There is a wide variety of equipment to keep kids of all ages entertained. My daughter absolutely loved exploring the different areas and was eager to try everything out.
I was particularly impressed with the safety measures in place at The Mill House. The equipment is all age-appropriate and well-padded. I felt completely at ease letting my daughter play independently, knowing that she was in a safe and secure environment.
Another thing I appreciated was the friendly atmosphere among the other parents and children. Everyone was courteous and respectful, and there was a sense of camaraderie in the air. My daughter had a wonderful time making new friends and engaging in imaginative play.
Overall, our visit to The Mill House was an absolute delight. The clean and safe facilities, the friendly staff, and the welcoming atmosphere made it the perfect place for a day of fun with our little one. I highly recommend this playground to anyone looking for a fun and safe place for their kids to play.
Here are some of the things I loved about The Mill House:
Clean and well-maintained facilities Friendly and helpful staff Safe and secure environment Wide variety of equipment to keep kids of all ages entertained Welcoming atmosphere among parents and children I would definitely recommend The Mill House to other parents. It is a great place for kids to run around, burn off energy, and make new friends. I know we will...
Read moreAfter reading the reviews, i thought this would be a worthwhile stop for some decent pub grub while staying near by, however I was sorely mistaken.
Paid over £30 for some fish and chips, Lasagna, a Large Coke that was half full, and a pint.
Firstly, I set my expectations accordingly, expecting pub grub, and food at least on par or similar to Weatherspoons, unfortunately it really wasn’t. After paying £13 for fish and chips, I was presented with a decent bit of fish, which was nice enough, the rest however, I had a portion of chips that was smaller then a small fries from McDonalds, a mere spoonful of mushy peas, and a small dish of curry sauce, where I could literally see the bottom of the dish, and no Tartar sauce, the portion size was appalling. A Weatherspoons portion has at least twice the chips and peas!
My partner has Lasagne, which was served in a small ceramic style dish, no larger than a slice of bread, and about as thick as my non existent chips, it did however taste fine. The salad was old and limp and hardly much of it.
As we’re staying in a hotel 5/10mins away for 20 nights, the place had the potential to be a regular for our evening eats, and when arriving and looking at the menu, I was confident this would be a regular while staying, although now not only will I avoid this for the duration of our stay, but I’ll be avoiding any Greene King pubs for a while, which is a shame as I have been living in Bristol and continuing to do so, I’ve seen many in town and considered eating there, which is what lead me to try tonight while we were so close and needed food.
I’d honestly not bother here, and go to either a Weatherspoons or try the Beefeater that’s not too far away, I’m yet to try, but can’t see it being any...
