Went as a party of 12 and sat in two tables of six back to back in booths with blacked out screens. It was girls we work with who couldn't (at the time) mix inside work either. Staff were quick to remind us of the time we had left but not at taking any orders! We had to request drinks and ask could we order food. There was no explanation from them as to how the pizza and prosecco worked here as everywhere does it differently. A member of our party became ill and went home half an hour into us being there at which point one of our tables of 6 hadn't had their food order taken and had each had one glass of prosecco. Whilst taking our ill friend out, staff were overheard discussing not to give our two tables any more alcohol (we had booked for unlimited pizza and prosecco). After a hour of our timeslot one table had eaten two pizzas between 5 and two glasses each and our other table had still had no food order taken and had only had one glass of prosecco still. We then saw staff trying to top up our glasses with sparkling water!! We spoke to the manager and questioned the amount of food and drinks, sparkling water and staff deciding to not serve us alcohol.. he said this was not the case and we had misheard. One of our table were given an extra half hour and one was given an extra 15mins. We had tables booked elsewhere too so some guest spent our extra 15 mins sorting time slots out so we didn't lose other tables. Our table that hadn't eaten got three calzones to share 1 between 2 people and the other table got an extra pizza.
All in all, both tables had three pizzas each and two glasses of prosecco. We was still charged £25 a head (even for our friend who hadn't eaten or drank...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI would give il Cortile 5stars for foodā¦1star for customer service..hence 3star average. The food, excellent presentation, tasty and reasonably priced. The customer service on the other hand requires serious attention. We have experienced similar issues to previous customers. The front of house manager is in need of retraining. Basil Fawlty is alive and well and now located in Culcheth. On arrival, we were met (not greeted) by a surly, arrogant manager. He showed us to a table in the middle of a half empty restaurant. The restaurant has a number of booths, all but one was empty. We requested to be seated in one of these booths. He reluctantly escorted us to a booth but made it very clear that it had to be vacated within 90 minutes because of a pre booking. We agreed as it appeared to be a reasonable request. On finishing we were surprised to find all the other booths and 3/4 of the restaurant empty. The manager in question should look at his manners and attitude towards paying customers. He was obviously put out by the fact that we had the audacity to ask for a different table. To further show his contempt, he ignored us for the duration of our visit. This made us feel very uncomfortable. We will not be...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI have a senior role in a starred Michelin Restaurant, so I do hope people reading this will take heed. Iām certainly not going to bore anybody with a full blown review. Pasta is not my bread and butter, but, i have been to dozens of Italians in my time. I arrived with my Wife, Son and Father in Law for a 5 o clock reservation. Atmosphere was relaxed and staff were really pleasant. Garlic bread was awesome. Really nice thin base which is so nice to see. My Lasagne was an absolute dream. It ticked all the right boxes. My Wife and Father in Law both opted for Carbonara which I also sampled, really lovely. My Son had the steak which although cooked well still retained itās juices and was not tough at all considering it was from the rump. So yes, a thoroughly enjoyable Italian, one of the best I have had in a long...
