We were there yesterday with our 1.5 year old and we really enjoyed it, it was spooky but not too scary! However we thought there were a few aspects of the organization of the event that could be improved for the following years. For example, we arrived with 15min spare time for our allocated ticket times, and the queue to park was massive, which delayed us parking and getting ready to leave the car. We ended up parking at the very bottom of the road where there was no lighting whatsoever with a road full of potholes. It’s not ideal for prams or for parents having to carry little children, especially when you’re having to pay for parking separately. We would have loved a wider choice of sweet and savoury food, like actual meat burgers for example. The queue to start the trail wasn’t too bad. The characters, the decorations and the lights were amazing, as well as the music, overall a very cool atmosphere. Staff were very friendly and clearly trying their best so hats off to them! And the live music was lovely, such a shame though that those with later entry end up missing out on that bit because by the time we sat down with our food, the artist had gone. In my opinion, if you pay the same price as everybody else, you should be entitled to the same entertainment. But I hope this is seen as constructive criticism as overall we thought it was a nice...
Read moreBooked this event mostly as its dog friendly as its rare to find Halloween events that are dog friendly so this was a bonus for us. Paid £5 online for car parking as advised no free local parking, £5 is reasonable, we did wait a while to park but staff were friendly and helpful so we didn't mind parking in the overflow. We paid £16 each which I would say is average for this type of event. We had food and drinks in the tent before which were again average prices. It was nice to have the live music and heaters/firepits for extra warmth and a good selection of food and drink with short queues. Lots of tables to sit and eat in the tent and indoor seating too. We visited on a Wednesday evening. We entered the trail after our time as they said this was okay and luckily they made an announcement advising last entry at 8.15pm or we would have missed out as thought it closed at 10pm. Anyway also toilets onsite were clean and no queues. Hot mulled wine available also for walking round the trail. The trail was good, we enjoyed it and took some photos, the staff were happy to take them also. All the staff we met were friendly and helpful. Even the actors made us laugh. All in all we really enjoyed our time here so thank you to all those who make it happen. I would definitely recommend to family, friends and colleagues for spooky...
Read moreIt was okay and enjoyable for the kids.
Parking is a nightmare, queued on the road for a good 15mins before someone came and told us and others to park in a public car park 5mins walk away. Which was small and people were struggling to find space... Not sure why I paid for parking.
Decent choice of food and entertainment area but a tad pricey like all these events these days.
A bit of a wait into the event but once in it was pleasant and fun for the kids and dogs. The path was well kept, narrow and with the odd puddle. Each attraction was a bit of a bottleneck as the path was narrow and obviously people wanted to take photos.
Then at the end there were the witches making spells and bobbles the kids love. But my goodness... the pop-up bar at the end charged £2 for a single can of pop and £4 for marshmallows. So, times that by 4 wanting and excitable kids. It's a lot and extortionate on top of what you pay for tickets and a paid for (free public) parking.
I'd rate higher if it wasn't for the...
