The best Indian meal on the island, infact its probably one of the best in the UK. The restaurant is cosy and comfortable and has recently had a make-over with air-conditioning installed for extra comfort in the hot weather. Booking is best, as they can get very busy, Jaffran is now open seven evenings a week due to its popularity. All of the staff are welcoming, smart, and very helpful. Whatever your taste in food, the experienced chef and his team will try to ensure your meal will be to your taste. Always ask one of the experienced staff if you have any questions or querries. Whatever your taste, the chef will be only too pleased to cater to your specific requirements to ensure you have an enjoyable meal. Bring your own alcohol. There is a small corkage charge of £1.75 pp. And don't worry, if you forget your alcohol, Sainsbury's is only a couple of minutes away. There is plenty of parking nearby, so whether you're eating in or ordering a takeaway, you will find the restaurant is easily accessible.

Was a little hesitant after seeing some of the negative reviews, but can never resist an Indian when on holiday. As a takeaway ordered Vegetable Pathia and Chicken Madras, both were excellent. Nice crisp Onion Bhajis, fresh Garlic Naan and a creamy Tarka Dall. What's not to like? Would definitely recommend. The only downside was a 45 minute wait to collect (which ended up being nearer 55 minutes), but not the end of the world. Service was efficient and polite although they were busy so was lacking some potential warmth. Prices were very reasonable - felt like ordering a takeaway ten years ago. Maybe that's an IoW thing...

Superb Indian restaurant in Freshwater Village. Staff and waitress were very helpful and friendly 🙂 came here in the week and had no problem getting a table but weekends I would book as it gets busy. Had the prawn puri and mixed kebab for starters, very tasty 😋, mains had chicken shaslik with salad, chicken tikka jalfreizi with mushroom rice, aloo gobi and a garlic and chilli with corriander nan. Absolutely delicious food highly recommended. We were stuffed. There is no alcohol served on premises, but bring your own wine, beer etc, no corkage charges. Fabulous food and good friendly service definitely be back soon.

Wanted to visit this restaurant for a dinner over the Easter weekend. We didn't have a booking, however, when we entered the restaurant shortly after it opened (around 5:15 PM) it was completely empty so we thought, we might be lucky and get some food. How wrong were we!

I usually don't write negative comments but what followed next was quite insulting and should not be repeated - hence I write a public review for everyone to see and for management to consider.

The conversation: Me: Hello! Can we have a table for 2, please? The employee: Do you have a reservation? Me: No, but it's just 2 of us. We are here to eat something quickly. The employee: We are fully booked. Me: But the restaurant is empty and it's quite early in the evening. We won't be long. The employee: It doesn't matter it's empty, we are fully booked. Me: Nobody is here. We are here now. The employee: It doesn't matter they are not here, we are fully booked. Me: OK, I guess you do not need to earn some extra money then. The employee: (angry now) I don't need your money. I have enough money. Me: Good for you! And left...

The employee was an indian man with grey hair. I am not sure if he is the owner or just an employee but this behaviour as a service provider is totally...

LISTEN TO THIS!

We came over to the Isle of Wight for the weekend and tonight we decided not to eat out and ordered from the Indian takeaway that was on our welcome pack at the place we are staying at. Not thinking of looking at the reviews of this place as we thought if they are recommended they should be decent… how wrong was we. I got told our order would be an hour which I understood as I thought they would be busy. An hour and half later the guy turns up. I take the order in and there is something missing from my order. We wait a further 20 mins for him to go pick that up and bring it to us. So about 2 hours after ordering we finally get what we ordered, which was the worst curry I’ve ever had. I could of made better and cost over 30 quid. Watery sauce etc just too much wrong to list it all but it was terrible. I forgot to mention we had no offer of a discount for all this inconvenience. STAY AWAY...
