Kempton’s at Sunningdale Park — Restaurant in England

It's a bit of false advertising on their website for "fine dining". This is nowhere near a fine dining experience. To be fair, we were raising our eyebrows prior to booking due to much lower pricing than expected.

We ordered Two Early Bird two course meals. Disappointingly the food took 40 mins to arrive and we had to ask for the sauce for one of our meals. That took another few mins.

Our desserts took a good 20 odd mins to be served after the mains dishes were cleared away.

The poor waitress - she was the only one serving 5 tables and she had to keep apologising for the slow kitchen service. She was very polite and tried her best.

Couple of points that we raised on the spot: 1. The salad garnish that we had on our mains were not fresh.. they were yellow. The white napkin provided had some black marks on it. Both were off putting in a restaurant.

Additionally it is a messy building site to navigate through as there are ongoing building works to this place. This hopefully will be resolved with time.

The only honest review on Google about this place was one commented at 11 months ago stating that they were "not fully opened..." They are still not fully open according to the staff today.

Food was not exciting but tasted fine - maybe this is “fine“ in what they meant by...

A lovely country house setting in Sunningdale Park. Staff were friendly upon arrival and were quick to seat us. The gentleman that initially greeted us was friendly and didn’t rush us. I was with my elderly Nan who isn’t the quickest of walkers and he was very patient whilst showing us to our table.

The young lady that served us the afternoon tea was also professional, kind and accommodating.

The food was delicious and served swiftly. Very reasonably priced.

A very pleasant afternoon tea made better in such a nice environment with such attentive staff.

My only advice for those coming with elderly relatives would be (where possible) to drive to the front of the building and drop them off by the door and then park the car. There is a it of a hill between the car park and the house.

We were a party of 12 for an 80th yesterday. Service was extremily poor. We had to search for staff for hot water and tea top ups. We have all had awful sickness today too. Whether that be the sandwiches or scones or cakes, either way feeling very uncomfortable and will not be returning. I was charged extra for green tea but on the website said included. The place is pretty and lovely gardens but a huge disappointment with service and food quality.

Despite them commenting on this post they have not dealt with this in any way other than a rude email 🙄 definitely...
