5 Stars – Not Sure What the Complaints Are About! We had such a lovely experience at Lazy Jacks that I genuinely had to double-check if we were at the same place people left those low-star reviews for! There were four of us, and we had booked ahead – everything went smoothly from the moment we arrived. The service was spot-on: friendly, attentive, and perfectly timed. Starters were served, and they waited for us to finish before bringing the mains – no awkward juggling of plates or rushing us through the meal. There was no sharing platter on the menu, but the team quickly offered alternatives so we could still enjoy something together – a nice touch that showed flexibility and great customer care. Drinks were served perfectly chilled, with Prosecco arriving in its own little ice bucket like a VIP guest. Now, the food… oh, the food! The king prawns and sea bass were fresh, beautifully presented, and full of flavour. The vegetables and salad were crisp, colourful, and clearly not just there for decoration – cooked just right and delicious. Honestly, we left happy, full, and wondering if the people leaving bad reviews just caught them on a bad day (or maybe expected a Michelin star and forgot they were by the marina, not in Mayfair). We’d happily go back. Lazy Jacks – you’ve got fans in us!

Head chef (Tall stocky one with blonde ish hair) is an absolute disgrace. Been on two occasions, sat in once. Food great on first visit, found head chef speaking to front of house staff very rudely & not even trying to hide it from the customers. I genuinely feel sorry for the front of house staff. Ordered a second time for a takeaway, we ordered 6 pizzas. One of the pizzas was handed out wrong. We had to return TWICE to get the right one. On the first return visit the chef took the original pizza & put it back in the oven with an additional topping, not taking note of the fact the original toppings were wrong (Pineapple on pizza instead of pepperoni). On the 2nd return visit, the chef wasn’t understanding & blamed us for the mistake, not considering it was ordered over the phone & it was even stated when ordering the line wasn’t the best. The final pizza cooked didn’t even get sliced & was significantly smaller than the other 5 pizzas we ordered (evidently did this on purpose). Somehow they also have the audacity to add service charge to a takeaway order? 🤷🏼‍♂️ Such as shame as there is a lot of potential if certain people’s attitudes could be rectified. Note: Front of house staff were very accommodating, shame the one member of kitchen staff thinks he’s Gordon Ramsey.

I recently celebrated my partner's birthday at Lazy Jacks, and I can't express how wonderful the experience was! The staff at Lazy Jacks are incredibly inviting and kind, and our server, Emma, made the occasion truly special. Emma's attention to detail was impeccable, and she made my partner's birthday extra special with thoughtful decorations and a surprise birthday pancakes that truly exceeded our expectations!!! He loved it. Was such a good start to his day. If you're looking for a restaurant with inviting staff, exceptional service, and a memorable atmosphere, I highly recommend Lazy Jacks. Our experience, thanks to Emma and the rest of the team, was nothing short of amazing. Lazy Jacks will forever hold a special place in our hearts, and we can't wait to return for more unforgettable moments. Thank you, Emma, and the entire staff at Lazy Jacks, for making my partner's birthday so incredibly special. We can't wait to visit again soon! Also we have had many amazing experiences subsequently for dinner with family and enjoying the amazing homemade pizzas!

Terrible service… Arrived at 17:42 and were given a table outside. Not a busy evening and around 5-6 waiters around serving 10 tables at most. We weren’t given any menus until 18:05 despite asking earlier. Then when given menus by a chap shouting “do you need a menu” across the outside terrace, we were ignored until 18:17 to which a lady came over and asked if we’d ordered drinks yet, even though she’d been standing at the table opposite us chatting/flirting with some old guy and pouring his wine while he was eating his pizza for the last 10 minutes.

She took our order but didn’t really seem interested or concentrating on what we’d said. Which was obvious when the order came out.

Drinks first… coke instead of diet. Not a huge issue but still wrong. Food around 15 minutes later which were stone fired pizzas and cooked okish, a bit under done. But obviously it was wrong and we hadn’t received our fries with the order… by this point we didn’t even say anything. More to test if they’d even remember at the end when I came to the bill.

We’d finished our food and sat for around 20 minutes with empty plates and glasses before we got up and went to the bar to pay. Met with a “yea I’ll be right over”

Gave me the bill… I stated we hadn’t gotten our fries but they were on the bill. No “sorry” or “I apologise”. Just an “oh, I’ll take it off”

Wish I’d paid by credit card as I’d definitely get the charge reversed. Hopefully the owner reads this and offers some hope as I really couldn’t bothered to chat with the staff any longer.

A good idea but poor execution by...

I had the strangest experience at Lazy Jack’s this week. I’ve wanted to give it a try for a while so myself and the family walked there from Lilliput which is a good 35mins. I spoke to a lovely lady on the phone who informed me that they wouldn’t be serving the food on the menu again until 5pm but we were welcome to order pizza and drinks and she would reserve me a table. I told her that would be perfect and we’d be there in 15mins. When we arrived the young unsmiling server on the desk seemed very confused and acted as if I’d made the conversation up. She wandered away from me mid-conversation saying ‘I don’t know who you’ve spoken to…’ I got the attention of a second waitress who began by calling me sweet-pea in quite a patronising way, and again seemed confused. She put it down to a third waitress being ‘hit and miss’ that day and said she’d ask the chef if he could accommodate us. She disappeared for 10 mins leaving us once again standing around by the door. In the meantime, a couple came in and were told they were serving pizzas until 5pm by the first server and asked to take a seat! By the time the second waitress came back from her chat we had decided that it was the oddest non-welcome we’d ever received and informed her that we were going to go to ‘Caff’ around the corner. ‘Oh ok sweet-pea…’ she responded 🤦🏻‍♀️ Such a shame as I’ve heard the food is lovely but it was sadly let down by a complete lack of warmth and service. I don’t think the waitresses were aware of how rude they had been so perhaps some customer service training...

Never had such appalling service. The staff were really pleasant, but that's the only positive. The food was nice (well mine was. My partner's steak was medium, when he asked for rare and the blue cheese sauce was an odd gravy brown in colour) The guy who seated and greeted us was very nice, but we were not offered any drinks with the menu. After spending 15 minutes on the phone he took our order. By the way the place was quiet, us and 4 other tables of two, so hardly rushed off their feet. Our cocktails arrived half way through our starters and we had to ask twice for water ( nothing to drink with our food!) I heard the kitchen staff call 'service', to which no-one responded. The chef repeated, "service, girls PLEASE". I witnessed a lady going to the bar herself, because their drinks hadn't arrived. We ordered dessert. My partner's never arrived & we were charged for a coffee that should have been included with my dessert. We didn't query either, as we had spent a lovely day on the beach and didn't want to finish the day with a negative vibe. The 'icing on the cake'....... .......before we paid the bill, the waitress presented us with a QR code saying, "please give me a good review, because I'll get £100 added to my wages". Unbelievable! At over £100 for average food and service so bad one star is too much & frankly shouldn't be on the bill. We will never go back. All these wiatreses and front of house staff need training ASAP or the business will suffer. Lazy Jacks has slack staff and is overpriced for what you...
