I recently dined at Le Raaj, and it was an absolutely exceptional experience from start to finish. The moment we walked in, we were greeted with warm, friendly service, which set the tone for a memorable evening.
The ambiance is inviting and elegant, with just the right balance of sophistication and comfort. The menu offers a fantastic range of Indian dishes, from traditional favorites to more creative options. Every dish we tried was perfectly cooked and bursting with authentic flavors. The butter chicken was rich and creamy, and the lamb biryani was fragrant and tender. I also appreciated the chef’s willingness to customize the spice levels to our liking.
The service throughout the meal was attentive without being intrusive, and the staff was knowledgeable about the menu, making great recommendations. We felt genuinely looked after, and the overall experience was seamless.
In terms of value, Le Raaj offers excellent quality for the price, and the portion sizes are generous. Whether you’re looking for a romantic dinner, a family meal, or just a great night out with friends, I highly recommend Le Raaj for anyone in the Sedgefield area.
I will definitely be...
Read moreStaff were helpful and friendly and there's a great selection of food. I'd recommend booking a table as it was quite busy and it would be a shame to miss out. All of the food was really tasty and there were a number of chef's specials which are worth trying. We had a table of six and with starters, mains and drinks the bill was around £125 which is very reasonable for restaurant quality food. One of the party was a wheelchair user and there was easy access from the disabled parking spaces and in the restaurant itself. The staff took it in their stride and checked if they wanted to use a chair or remain in the wheelchair which is often overlooked when eating out. There's a takeaway menu too and although it's collection only it will be worth the trip. The website has the menus available as well as booking capabilities so visit it before going to get your taste buds working.
All in all I would recommend a visit to Le Raaj, great food, atmosphere and...
Read moreMy first - and probably only - experience of a take-away from here was very poor to say the least. We came here for a birthday meal as we wanted restaurant prepared food instead of a local take-away. The order included King Prawn Sabsi Bahar. The menu description says "King prawns stir fried with capsicum, cherry tomatoes, bindi, cauliflower and aubergine in a mixture of aromatic Indian spices". No where does it mention overcooked broccoli or whole new potatoes. Cherry tomatoes and aubergines were absent and there were 3 prawns in a bog-standard curry sauce. It looked like the chef had chucked in anything that was left lying around. The other dishes in the 4-meal order were very average and the service was abrupt. In fairness I've eaten here in the restaurant and it was good but it seems...
