An excellent little spot in the middle of Sedgefield. The menu is in the process of being updated, but was very good nonetheless. The specials board, however, is where the real action is: two soups, at least three different pies, a quiche and I'm sure I saw someone with sausage and mash (plus gravy, of course!)
The slice of corned beef pie that I had was excellent - and a proper portion too. They were even accomodating to my request for a salad side rather than the standard chips and peas (just too much for me today at lunchtime - I wonder if I'm losing my touch... 😉)
Great staff too: friendly, organised, understanding, helpful and with personality too. Can't really ask for more...

Just happened across this place and really liked it. It is on a relatively busy street however there is a car park nearby and you can park on the street for an hour. Staff very friendly and helpful. No 4 Tearoom is lovely but is sometimes small pokey and u can feel like everyone's on top of you. We walked along to Aubergine Cafe further along the High Street. There were tables booked but not for a little while. The Friendly owners and staff without question were happy to put two two-seater together for us as the tables weren't booked til 2pm ish. Warm friendly staff and owners. The Food was lovely and we will certainly be back again. My eldest had Hot Chocolate Deluxe. One of the delightful ladies brought Isla a little saucer with marshmallows on both girls got kinder chocolate for going. We will be back. Customer service Outstanding food...
