Mariners — Restaurant in England

Last night I made 2 orders. Order 1: 2x kids chicken nuggets meal 1x large fish 1x large fish and chips 1x steak and kidney pie 1x battered sausage 1x saveloy (which didn't recieve) Total £29.90

Order 2: 2x large fish and chips 1x battered sausage 2x kids Donna meat meal 2x kids cheese burger meal 2x large curry sauce 1x onion rings Total charged £49.90 untill i worked it out and was over charged by £9.60

Got back to the caravan to eat 3/4 of the food ended up in the bin, was up all night on the toilet and haven't been able to leave the caravan due to the food last night giving us all a bad belly. Which has made our first time visiting a very bad experience.

Young lad might be friendly but he was the one who over charged. As for the other two communication was shocking, messed up orders till I had to ask and remind them of drink for the kids meals. Asked for salt and you couldn't taste any. I was told when making the orders that will be be about 25 minutes, after waiting 50 minutes for the complete order to be packed there was still more food being cooked. Chips were well undercooked, fish was disgusting never tasted anythink like it before. Battered sausages were undercooked, onion rings were as though they were cheap from a super market. Donna meat didn't taste anythink like it, it was vile and putrid. Fish wasn't cod it tasted and smelt off and was undercooked (yet I am high risk heavily pregnant) I will never recommend this chip shop to anyone visiting cleethorpes as this chippy should be shut down and health and safety environment should...

Sadly I cannot recommend this take away. I ordered yesterday and was advised due to being busy it would take an hour for delivery after the hour had passed I rang and was advised that they were wrapping it and would take approximately 15 minutes to get to us. Half an hour passed and I rang back told she was just putting it in the car now asked why was I advised differently before she snapped at me told I should never have been told that. Food came 15 minutes later now 2 hours since ordering after checking the food it was stone cold requested money back or discount and the delivery driver argued it was fine it was still hot requested money back she walked away she rang the boss got money back and she took food. After asking who we needed to speak to at the shop she just kept saying the boss asked for their name the boss her abusive language on a family friendly resort was appaulling and there was no need for the language she used to the point it was that loud my kids could hear her in caravan. After ringing the shop to speak with the boss he was very rude and would not listen and in the end he hung up on me this. This has left a very bitter taste in my mouth and will never recommend this...

Ordered our food at 21:15, it didn’t show up until 23:20. We called twice to get an update on the whereabouts of our food, the first call was at 22:20 and we were told our order was sitting on the side and waiting to be picked up, which meant it had been sat for most likely over an hour before arriving at our door.

The food itself was inedible. I thought the other reviews about the mushy peas tasting like cigarettes were just over exaggerated but they were right. They left a nasty, stale smoke aftertaste. The battered sausage was slimy and the haddock was rock solid. We also ordered two different sized haddocks & chips (small and large) but both portions were exactly the same size? The chips were cold, and the desserts tasted like plastic. My partner’s battered burger was covered in grease and the batter itself was soggy. The only things that tasted good were the drinks.

This was the first time we had ordered from here and it will definitely be the last. If you want good fish & chips go to Ernie Beckett’s, which is usually our first choice but they were closed and this was the only place open...
