Masala Restaurant — Restaurant in England

Have just got home after a fantastic meal at Masala, and I'm stuffed. Saw online that they did a banquet on a Thursday evening and after looking at the great reviews and appetising menu, I made a reservation. Greated with a warm friendly welcome. Initially given a table for 2, which was fine as the restaurant was almost full, but as soon as a larger table became available, they asked if we'd like to move and have more space, which I thought was amazing customer service. The food was delicious and before each course was served, we were asked if we were ready or needed more time. It's difficult to put into words how great an experience it was. No wonder Google reviews are 4.7. will definitely be back, soon....

Mid week meal out and our first time at Masala restaurant. We got there really early so it was quiet but soon started filling up. The welcome was friendly and we were seated straight away. The menu is extensive enough for a good choice but not overwhelmingly large. The lamb tikka masala was so so good with a rich tomato sauce. Plenty of pieces of lamb too. The lamb biryani was full of flavour and the portion was big. The chicken kurma was creamy and coconutty with lots of chunks of chicken and plenty of sauce. The service was brilliant. Unsure of atmosphere. unfortunately, the food wasn't very good at all. We ordered and awaited the food and collected it within minutes. Two out of three curries were stone cold. We rang and fortunately they were very helpful and offered replacement curries which was lovely. However when we received the remaining two. They were bland and the chicken was overcooked.

I appreciate the attempts but after £50 spent and throwing away £30, I cannot give it a higher recommendation. Hopefully it was just unlucky. Apologies and all...
