McDonald's — Restaurant in England

The food here was great we went for breakfast, the syrup ran out on their drinks machine for my Coca Cola, so I just said to the man could I have a new one, after a couple of minutes he gave me the same coke back or at least the same batch from the machine, I took it back and just told him the syrup from the machine had ran out I’m only getting the fizzy water. He told me I’m wrong he said “do you want a bottle of water instead” I said no I just want a coke he said “you have had a coke twice choose another one” he said this aggressively which is ridiculously over a drink, looking down at me over a coke made me feel terrible, I asked him three times just to try the drink and he would know what I mean whilst keeping calm and respectful, after this he half-arsed asked the drinks guy to “sample the coke” the drinks man (in a stuttered voice said) “oh it needs changing” I could not believe the drama that had been caused over a silly drink and the way I was spoken to by this McDonald’s employee was disgusting, no sir you are not better than me just because I wanted a new coke. But it was amusing how much he changed his attitude once he realised he was in The wrong, this time bringing the drink over to the table and thanking us, as he knew he was in the wrong.

I found the lack of customer service abomnable, the manager was oviously swamped. Staff were chatting while customers inside waited for service from the only employee at the pass. Staff were crowding around the drive through point paying more attention to that than customers inside. Fries and burgers had been cooked earlier and stacked up waiting. This did not alleviate the need for management of people. I personally had to go back to counter to get hot food as my meal was cold, tepid and unappetising. If McDonalds know about the problems in Berwick why don't they build another and staff it with those willing to do service to the customer. This would provide work and a better atmosphere in which to get out their product, so that people may actually say...

We called tonight on our way back from Edinburgh at about 7.00pm. Although the food oder was spot on the restaurant was an absolute disgrace! Tables we're filthy with ingrained food on them, the bin was overflowing inside so much so i had to ram the rubbish down with my tray to put my food cartons in! The floor was littered with food and chips which i slipped on and the tables had trays and containers left on....there were 3 staff members chatting behind the counter of which anyone could of cleaned up the place. Put me right off and it wasn't even particularly busy! Nearly went to get the cleaning stuff to do our own table before i let the girl put our food on it! She did clean it for us and was very apologetic....
