Alas for my waistline, I am quite the connoisseur of Maccy D outlets. I have lived half way between the Goole & Selby branch for around 20 years, and so have clocked up significant visits to both..... and if you are in the region and have the opportunity of visiting either - please do yourself a favour and choose GOOLE. Trust me, it is far superior.... and this has been the case for as long as I can remember. Selby is slow, the staff (bar one of note) don't give a monkey's, and the most significant point and reason you're there.... the food is more often than not cold (NOT always, but genuinely more often than not). It's such a poor experience. Of course, you go back if you're in the area and in need of a quick fix, hence 'fast food' - but please don't expect to fully enjoy the grub, because that it a crazy stretch of expectation.
Just yesterday on our way home we dived for 4 double cheeseburgers (one each). The first batch we couldn't eat and so went back through the drive thru.... the 2nd batch were perhaps a degree over tepid. I wanted to go through again on principle but the kids just begged to eat their like warm offering and so we let the continued rubbish service slide..... I wish the branch would up their game because honestly, it's rinse and repeat stuff.
If you're in Selby and need a fix, grab a Mcflurry (given their only skills are serving stuff cold)... and then pootle on to Goole. You'll be glad that you did.
Ba-da-ba-ba-baaaah,...
Read moreI have just returned from hands down the worst service from a Mcdonalds. On arriving at the drive thru at 10am I was greeted by a queue of cars in the drive thru. It took 20 mins to get to the order kiosk, then another ten to get to the collection window. At the collection window I was given my coffees by a member of staff who said nothing to me, just handed me the drinks, then she left. I then sat patiently waiting for the rest of my order, a sausage and egg mcmuffin, pancakes and syrup, and a toasted bagel with philadelphia cheese. After about 5 mins of not having any communication with anyone I am handed a bag and some change, again with no communication. When I asked why I was being given change the Mcdonalds employee said they had run out of pancakes so I was being refunded. This really is not acceptable as that was what I had waited over half an hour for. Then to top it all off I opened my bagel upon arriving home and there was no philadelphia cheese, just a plain bagel. Even though the wrapper said it was a bagel with philadelphia cheese. So all in all a terrible experience from a "fast"...
Read moreEvery, and I mean every time I order, anywhere between £10-40, mostly the higher at least 1 item is missing and its normally my meal and or more. Management says the staff are young and its their first job for some of them, however, it's usually the longer time served staff members or the managers that bag up the orders. I see I'm not the only one this happens too so this is obviously an ongoing issue that needed to be investigated and procedures amended to rectify the problem long ago and also needed to be monitored. It can take and eon to get served and then to finally get home and items be missing can be a real pain, cause upset if its a treat for a family, and 9/10 times you can't get through on a phone so you have to return. I'm aware there demographic usually lends to a more forgiving clientele but when I've eaten at McDonalds for over 25 years I expected by now this should not really happen as it consistently does. Quality of the food has dropped to a place where i just cant eat it anymore but thats my own preference. Just check your orders before you leave if you order...
