A cracking place to stop, slightly off the beaten track, but lovely and peaceful, nestled in a lovely little valley. Small car park, toilets and they also take card payments. Varied menu, reasonably priced too. Outdoor eating areas, and covered areas as well. Nice and cool in the summer, and can imagine nice and cost in the winter as well (think hot chocolate and cake in a huge summer house, with central wood burner roaring away, whilst the rain is pouring down outside) Friendly staff, disabled access too.

Driving around Cornwall and found this charming place. Tea and scones were amazing.

Melinsey Mills is an eccentric & different place to have a tea or homemade lunch in a hidden spot in a Cornish Valley near Truro. The place has a very interesting and antique mill that is currently working. The cafe is set around a pound with rustic tables and chairs, you can walk around the pond to see a display of curiosities that made the walk interesting. The food and service was good. Nice experience in a different place.

We heard of this workng mill # just one of six remaining out of 700 in Cornwall. We would have liked to have found out alot more, as we have a mill project of our own in the making. You can enjoy good coffee & homemade cake etc and explore the site and the staff were pleasant. There is potential to make more of the site but can guess it's difficult to sensitively balance something quite unique without spoiling it. If it was ours think we would have payed more attention in some areas, but it was free entry and so can appreciate it's not an easy especially as it's open every day except Monday. We did leave feeling a little disappointed, probably because of our own enthusiasm on the subject - but can fully imagine the bigger issues when opening a site the family have worked so very hard to...

A personal favourite. I've come here for 20 years or so whenever I can. Not only are the cakes lovely, the drinks just as you'd want them, but the surroundings provide an experience like few other places.

It's very Cornish. I've lived here all my life and it's the kind of place we're proud of. Phone signal is appalling, the mill still works, it's packed with wildlife. You won't get a similar experience in many places.

If you've had a swim down pendower or carne, or you're popping through veryan for some fish and chips, give this a go. It's beautiful, interesting, and there are teapots in trees. For the duration of your tea break, you won't care about the...

Still an amazing place! The tranquil surroundings are perfect for birds, which are here in abundance. The birds can become so brave they visit your table for crumbs. It appears they appreciate the tasty cream tea too? Delicious scones, with very generous amounts of jam and cream are served to your table with beautiful crockery. It's a fun place, you can also walk around the water for a mini adventure! Watching the mill work is mesmerising. Friendly service, prompt, it was also lovely to hear the team have fun amoung themselves too. This is a special...
