Miah's — Restaurant in England

Food was lovely and can't fault. Service on the other hand was terrible. Our table was booked at 8, for a big table we arrived quite promptly. Our drinks order wasn't taken until half 8, waiting over 20 minutes for them to all arrive, food order didn't get taken til 9. 40 minutes later it arrived. Half our party had their food and half eaten it by the time the rest of us had ours. Some of the party had ordered starters...they never arrived, apparently they ran out! As soon as someone had put their knife and fork down their plate was cleared...felt like they were rushing for us to leave at 10. The bill was placed on the table, we started to go up to the counter to pay individually but the man just said "you sort, you work out what you need to pay" Just rude in general, was more interested in Uber...

This is a stunning little Indian restaurant in a gorgeous little town. We were staying locally and really fancied a curry, however the choices in this area are fairly low. So we travelled into this sleepy town, and tried our luck here. We were so impressed when we arrived. The service was fantastic, with the staff member giving us a great welcome. He was also so lovely to everyone who visited, even just to collect a takeaway. This was very quiet, but was a midweek, term time visit. Only 1 other table sitting in, but they had plenty of space. The food choice was great. All of the classics you would expect, plus some chef specials too. Everything we ordered arrived exactly as we were expecting. Food was great but grumpy service from the old man. He spoke to the young staff in a very insulting and demeaning way. First time we went we were made to wait whilst he continually answered the phone in front of us. We walked out and said we would never go back. After a couple of months we did and I can now say I regret giving them my money. As I said food was great but front of house is as bad as I have seen. Lesson definitely learned this time. Will...
