I’ve found my new favourite cafe/bakery! This cafe is very reminiscent of my time in Japan. There’s a wide array of detail that adds to the atmosphere. Music in the background that isn’t overpowering, wafts of the baked items in the back of the store where the bakery setup is and artistic features wherever the eye settles. I went on a sunny Saturday morning to find this cafe packed. Don’t worry though, there are a lot of staff and queues dissipate quickly. On this occasion I tried the Cardamon Knot and Oat Cappuccino. I’d definitely recommend coming with a few people and ordering one of a few baked goods. Whilst waiting in the queue to ordered I um’d and ah’d a lot as everything looked so good. I was not disappointed with the cardamom knot. The cardamom was splendidly balanced with the sugar and syrup coating and was not caked by the fat from the pastry it sat on. The chew in the pastry was moreish and complimented by the crunch of exterior pastry parts. The oat cappuccino could have been better as the coffee flavour was overpowered by the creaminess of the oat milk. I find this with most places so I would recommend an extra shot of coffee perhaps. I would also add that the use of pottery here is something you don’t find in many places! As a pottery lover, I had to stop myself ordering more coffees to see the range of unique cups they had. There are a number of toilets and free water dispensing station. This place is a wonderful stop along a marine side walk, run or cycle. The furry friends (dogs and maybe cats - sign for dogs welcome) are welcome too. There’s plenty of seating inside on sunny days as there is a large providing of seating outside. Parking is local, you can expect to pay around £3...

Mokoko Coffee Shop in Portishead is a hidden treasure that offers a delightful coffee experience in a stunning location. During my recent visit, I was pleasantly surprised by the exceptional service, delectable croissants, inviting aroma, and the breathtaking view of the marina.

The service at Mokoko is top-notch, characterized by the friendly and attentive staff who make you feel right at home. Their warm and welcoming demeanor is a true asset to the coffee shop's ambiance.

The croissants at Mokoko are nothing short of amazing. Freshly baked and perfectly flaky, they pair wonderfully with a cup of their expertly brewed coffee. The combination of the rich, buttery croissants and the aromatic coffee is a match made in heaven for any pastry lover.

Walking into Mokoko is an olfactory delight. The air is filled with the enticing aroma of freshly roasted coffee beans and baked goods, setting the stage for a delightful sensory experience.

What truly sets Mokoko apart is its lovely view of the marina. Whether you choose to sit indoors or on their outdoor terrace, you're treated to a panoramic view of boats gently bobbing on the water. It's a serene backdrop that enhances the overall experience, making your visit even more special.

In conclusion, Mokoko Coffee Shop in Portishead is a must-visit for coffee enthusiasts and those seeking a charming atmosphere. With excellent service, heavenly croissants, an inviting aroma, and a marina view that soothes the soul, it's a coffee shop that delivers on every level. I can't wait to return for another...

Fantastic Service, Lackluster Food/Drink

I'd heard fantastic things about this location in Portishead. Recently, someone brought me a Pain au chocolate that was excellent, commenting to me on how great the lemonade was too.

Today, I came in and bought a cinnamon bun with a lemonade. The service was fantastic, it was quick and attentive and I really couldn't have asked for more. However, the lemonade I was given was extremely sour with a chemical/glue taste to ut, beyond anything that was actually drinkable (annoyingly I only realized this when we were back on the road). This surprised me as I'd heard such fantastic things about it. After an effort in mixing and then adding a little water in the hopes that it would be different, the drink was still excessively sour, and I was forced to give the rest of the drink a miss as I couldn't stomach the rest.

The cinnamon bun looked fantastic when I bought it (we took it all to go), however upon eating it I discovered that it was absolutely COVERED in brown sugar. We're not talking about just a little bit too much sugar, every crevice of this bun being absolutely drowned in as much sugar as possible. I ate over the takeaway bag, almost filling the bottom of it, unable to eat another drop of sugar out of fear of developing diabetes.

Overall, I felt quite disappointed with what I received today, feeling that I overpaid for something that was really...
