Tucked on the edge of a small business estate, a couple of minutes walk from the Marina (and actually at the end of a pleasant walk from the waterfront along a stream) is this functional looking, dog friendly café. We went on a Sunday and were met with a friendly wave from the open plan kitchen. We took a brunch menu and ordered one "Half Marina" and one "Eggs Benedict" along with a Cappuccino and a tea. Firstly, my Cappuccino was absolutely delicious - the best I'd had from a café in ages. And the food was equally as good. Really nicely cooked, great quality ingredients and the Hollandaise sauce for the Eggs got a big thumbs up from my connoisseur partner. So really good price for the quality. Delicious food and a great welcome.

Read moreWe went to the cafe today having eaten here a few times but honestly, never again. The three of us ordered two pancakes with bacon and maple syrup, and a bacon and egg bap. We were happy to wait 20 minutes for our order but when it arrived, we had the bap and just one pancakes and that missed the maple syrup. My wife’s pancakes were ‘on their way’. We assumed it had been forgotten? 15 minutes later the missing pancakes arrived which looked ok on the top but when they were turned over, undersides were burned black. Utterly inedible. At that stage we asked for the missing maple syrup for the first serving and sent the burnt pancakes back. About 15 minutes later the replacement meal arrived with no apology or explanation. I’m not one to comment further but leave the reader to form their...

It’s a strange location, on the periphery of a business park, but inside the cafe is a little Aladdin’s cave of delicious food and lovely staff.
It was a bit tricky to help myself to cutlery given how crowded and busy the cafe was, and there was a 30 min wait for food, but when it arrived, it was well worth it.
I would probably say don’t come here for a quick breakfast if it’s at peak times, but if you’re a foodie and don’t mind a lazy weekend morning - you must go and try it.
I heartily recommend the ‘Leaner Marina’ which is a less carby full English inc spinach and avocado. Lovely and colourful, and not at all greasy.
A lovely experience all...
