I went as a table of six to Aqua on a Wednesday evening. It was busy and had a great atmosphere. We sat out in the covered area which was light and airy. The service was friendly, helpful and attentive. A few people on the table ordered off the set menu which I think is good value for money. Being gluten free the set mine was a bit limited for me. The main menu offers a very good choice for gluten free, dairy free and vegetarian but I felt they are a bit over priced as often and iten from the meal was missing but not replaced and at the same price. For example I had the Pork Cheeks (pictured) which was delicious but I couldn't have the black pudding (gf) and with only two very small asparagus as my veg I think £15.00 (same price as main menu) was quite expensive. I was still hungry after my main and wish I had ordered an additional saviour dish in hindsight but I went for the large dome dessert, Hazelnut tort with coffee icecream and sticky toffee sauce. Of course the theater of melting the dome was exciting and fun but the eating wasn't as enjoyable. The chocolate was quite thick in places and not that pleasant to eat on it's own. Considering it was a sharing dessert there was only one scoop of icecream. Not nearly enough to counter the rich heavy tort (which was more like a dense brownie). At £12 I definitely wouldn't be ordering that next time. I would more likely go for the selection if I wanted a sharing pudding. I would go back again as it's convenient but I would order smarter! The pizza and fish and chips were highly recommend.

Went for a birthday meal, service was excellent, we ordered the ribeye steak and they got our steaks mixed up but they fixed the issue quickly, food came quick and the food was really great! Was a little pricey but worth it. However £10ish for a gin and tonic for my partner I thought was a bit steep. Definitely would go back for the food and service - they do add a service charge which is not mentioned / advertised at all and we did ask to take it off however this is no reflection to the service as they were excellent.. we just do not agree with American tipping culture when it’s “forced” but they did remove it at our request with no issue. Probably would have tipped if the service charge wasn’t automatically added. Again this is no reflection of the service as the girls were excellent.

We went to Aqua for dinner without any kind of expectations and we were complete blown away by the quality of the food, exceptional customer service and knowledge of the staff. Shem welcomed us with a bright smile and ensured we were looked after from start to finish. When we ordered a French Malbec, he then came back with two options for us to taste and choose from, as, given the different wine we had enjoyed before, he thought we would enjoy the Argentinian Malbec more; and he was so right!! Our server was Izzy and she was absolutely brilliant, even coming outside to top our glasses of wine whilst we were getting some fresh air. The food was spectacular and we had a fantastic evening. We’ll be back for sure! Thanks so much Shem and Izzy for making our evening so special and memorable.

Sunday lunch at Aqua in Portishead isn't just a meal; it's a coronation. Firmly ensconced as the premier restaurant in Portishead, Aqua's unrivaled position on the marina, coupled with its indoor and outdoor dining options, gives it a majestic edge over all comers. This is the place where you go to see and be seen, where the scenery is as delectable as the dishes.

The menu is a veritable odyssey of culinary delights, but it’s on a Sunday that Aqua truly comes into its own. Their 1, 2, or 3 course options are a masterstroke of flexibility. Whether you wish to make a swift beeline for the main event as we did, or languish in the sunshine over a languorous, multi-course feast, Aqua has you covered.

Now, let’s talk about the pièce de résistance: the roast sirloin of beef. It arrives at the table in all its glory, bathed in rich, dark gravy that hints at untold hours of simmering. The roast potatoes are the very definition of fluffy perfection, while the accompanying vegetables are no mere sideshow. The cauliflower cheese is decadently creamy, the red cabbage offers a tangy counterpoint, and the carrots bring a sweet, earthy balance. And then, of course, there’s the Yorkshire pudding – a towering testament to all that is grand and good about British cuisine.

Service at Aqua is impeccable, effortlessly blending efficiency with friendliness, ensuring that every visit feels like a special occasion. In a town brimming with dining options, Aqua is the undisputed champion, the number one spot for a Sunday lunch that feels as special as the setting.

So, if you find yourself in Portishead on a Sunday, there really is only one place to be. Aqua: where the food, the service, and the setting combine to create an experience that’s truly in a...

Today, my family and three other families visited this restaurant to celebrate my son's birthday. We had a fantastic time and I wanted to take a moment to share our experience.

Firstly, I must mention the outstanding service provided by the staff. When we arrived, we brought along a special birthday cake that my friend had made for my son. The restaurant staff went above and beyond to accommodate our request and ensured that everything was set up perfectly for the cake presentation. Their attentiveness and helpfulness truly made my son's birthday even more memorable.

In addition to their exceptional service, we were pleasantly surprised by the variety and quality of the drinks offered. The restaurant prepared a wide range of refreshing beverages that perfectly complemented our meal.

Furthermore, the highlight of our dining experience was undoubtedly the special of the day. The chef's creativity and skill were on full display, as the dish exceeded our expectations in terms of taste and presentation. It left a lasting impression on all of us, and we couldn't help but savor every bite.

Overall, our visit to this restaurant was nothing short of fantastic. The excellent service, delightful drinks, and exceptional food made it an unforgettable experience for our entire group. We left feeling satisfied and eager to return in the future.

Without a doubt, I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a memorable dining experience. You won't be disappointed. We are already looking forward to...
