I have been coming to this fantastic bakery for years, bringing multiple friends, family and work colleagues along the way. I unfortunately will not be returning again after, as so many businesses do now, they have decided to bring the parking barons in! What was previously a free car park (which would make sense, when you are there to use the businesses attached to the car park) is now a pay and display. There is a very small sign as you enter and the business does not have any signage and did not inform us of this scam. I came to the bakery after my wife and I had a short trip to the lake district, to distract us from a recent personal tragedy, meaning I was in auto pilot a little and not looking for parking pirates in a car park I'd previously used for free multiple times. I parked for 45 minutes and enjoyed some, as always, delicious food. I paid a fair price to this independent business for their skill and hard work, which Is something I champion, especially in Cumbria, one of the last bastions of sense in a country full of mass produced crap. I was then disappointed to receive a letter from DCB legal informing me that I had 'illegally' parked at a business I used and was required to pay the obviously fair and sensible fee of ÂŁ75 and the threat of a CCJ. The letter having the heading 'as seen on TV on can't pay we'll take it away' which had me looking round for which ÂŁ75 items I should quickly sell or hide away. I then had the audacity to challenge this, which I obviously lost, because this independent business park (full of small businesses, priding themselves on their local and sustainable products) is now at the mercy of a multi million pound parking conglomerate, which I was never going to beat. After many more threats and general harassment for the next few months, I have finally been forced, by the courts to pay ÂŁ300 for this brief stay at More bakery. I really hope that for the businesses sake, they take a cut of the parking fee, because I can imagine this ridiculous idea is and will continue to cost them customers. I'm sure robbing people for parking doesn't taste as sweet as knowing your fantastic product, friendly staff and sustainable local baked goods is why the money is rolling in, but as long as it keeps...

Discovered this place a few months ago and have since been returning roughly every couple of weeks. The quality of food & drink here is consistently outstanding. Coffee is delicious and probably in my top 3 favourites in the lakes (Lucia’s in Grasmere, a very strong contender). Food wise (I have only eaten off the breakfast menu): porridge, scrambled eggs on sour dough and bacon roll are simple, classic favourites but clearly envisioned/produced by someone who is truly passionate for great tasting, honest food and has an in depth appreciation for using quality produce. The portion sizes are also exceptional considering the quality you’re getting… and the prices? Wayyyyy more affordable than many of the more “popular” (but quite frankly mediocre -across the board) touristy offerings in and around the lakes. One other thing, the pain au raisins are the best pastry I can remember and think of eating in this country. Nothing comes close, period. Haven’t eaten a pain au raisin quite like it. Seating is comfortable, clean tables, attractive crockery, simple, minimalist but unpretentious interior, easily understood signage, nice comfortable, well kept loos and friendly, efficient staff. Plenty of food and bakery products I’ve yet to try but sadly moving from the lakes tomorrow so won’t be around for a while. Hope to visit in the near future...

Having been here last year we were really looking forward to going back again and made it the final location of our trip...... and what a shame we did...... i have to be honest if i had of known we would feel so ‘unwelcome’ by the girl with the glasses that served us we would’nt have bothered assisted in funding your wage.! Not a smile, a good morning, a hi how are you guys or anything... this is not the person that should be fronting your business at all.! We even witnessed her shouting that drinks were ready and then standing back and watching them go cold as the customers were expecting table service which is what they got from the pleasant young man who stepped in to assist. Coffee great, food great, cakes and pastries great, service the worst i’ve ever experienced which is a shame as we are sure if you ever read these reviews you may act on this and even some of your local customers who are feeling the same may return once your ‘Front of House’ is replaced. Please let us know when this happens and we would look forward to coming back, until then... GOOD LUCK, your...

Visited after shopping at the Inov-8 store, after messaging prior to visiting to ask if they had vegan options which they confirmed they did. Vegan options include vegan feta wrap or salad, sausage roll, porridge pot, avocado on toast, cake, flapjack and oat milk. We had two vegan feta wraps with two teas with oat milk. The wraps were scrumptious, loads of filling, with chunks of vegan feta, made with lovely fresh ingredients. We loved it and will definitely revisit in the future and make sure we have room for cake next time, the chocolate and raspberry cake looked so tempting. As we were leaving I took a photo of a vegan pizza they offer, but forgot to make a note of when these were available. Hawkshead Brewery is right next door, who I know make vegan friendly beers, maybe they collaborate on a joint effort pizza and beer evening. If More? read this review, please let me know about this.

My wife and I stopped off here on the way to Liverpool. It’s situated in a nice little village. They have a wide variety to choose from on the menu. My wife went with the katsu chicken wrap and I went with the recommended Staveley Fried Chicken. We also got a hot chocolate each which were both excellent. My wife appeared to enjoy the wrap and my burger did the job, although I expected it to be a little better. The bun was was just your standard morning roll. To take away we got a sweat treat each. I got the pistachio tart and my wife for the biscoff slice. The service was quite good although I was standing around waiting to be served and it wasn’t even busy. I do like how they have a vast quantity of breads to order.

Stopped in to More? bakery by chance while visiting the Lakes and in need of breakfast; the Cumberland sausage in a milk bread roll did not disappoint! Freshly baked roll and flavoursome Cumberland, it set me up for a morning on the Fells! Staff were very friendly, welcoming and helpful. Toilets were very clean, tables cleared and wiped down very quickly to make room for the constant stream of customers. This place is clearly popular with locals, dog walkers, and Lames visitors! Perfect stop off for breakfast, lunch or a sweet treat. Dog friendly too!
