I have always had fantastic service here, the food is INCREDIBLE, especially Robās homemade pasties but I am sad to read some recent comments.I would urge everyone to remember the Isles of Scilly are virtually unique, we are a very small community, and like everywhere, we have housing issues. Nearly every business here is run by family, with perhaps a very small amount of staff, we are very seasonal and not an all-year-round destination which adds to recruitment problems. This is our HOME, we LIVE here, it is our COMMUNITY and everyone tries their very best.
But please remember we all have lives and family in addition to working.
We all welcome, and encourage visitors, but I think what keeps us special, and keeps you coming back isā¦. THE PERSONAL TOUCH and that means sometimes personal/family needs happen.
May be rather than leaving a less than positive review, you take the time to be āpart of our communityā which means so much to you, and find out why somewhere is closed, or short staffed, at exactly the time we should be earning a living to survive the slow/quiet...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWe called in here when on a day trip to the island, and how pleased we were to stop here. It's a great location with great views. Table service is provided and we ordered a cream tea (2 scones, jam cream and a pot of tea) and americano coffee. It was served at the table and was lovely. The staff were great. Although we did not have dogs with us, a nearby table did and the young member of staff gave the dogs treats with the owners consent, and that was a touch that really stood this place out. They have beach items you can use for free, and that speaks volumes for how good and friendly this place is. As for the cream team, it was delicious, light with nice jam and cream. When we paid, they undercharged us, so when we realised we went back in and paid the extra couple of pounds. These places are absolute gems, so when you come across them, if mistakes happen tell them, it's their livelihood and important they continue. Service with a smile and pride in what they do. Going here made the day just that bit...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreRecently popped in on a Sunday for a late breakfast. I Wish we hadnāt! If faulty towers was a cafe it would be this one. Very over priced food, Ā£11 for an English breakfast I was expecting a little bit more than I received as the breakfast was very small which I could understand if the produce was good quality but it wasnāt. One very cheap sausage and even cheaper bland baked beans, the staff seemed to be either very new or all lacking in common sense should possibly pursue an alternative vacation. The table next to us also had multiple issues receiving a pot of tea for one!! After several attempts a cup, pot of tea and milk arrived.
asking for some tomato sauce became a problem too as this did not arrive. we then came into the counter inside to pay, they couldnāt find our tables ticket I had relay what we had ordered 4 times as the waitress messed up what we had ordered.
I would waste your time or lots of money going here, thereās some great places to eat on the island unfortunately this isnāt...
