Opted for the two course lunch priced £10.95 starters were fine but the 6oz steak was very tough so we returned our mains,we were offered an alternative but we did not feel the quality of a second meal would be better so we turned down the offer. We where then charged the full rate for our starters although this was a lunchtime special.when I asked for the manager a young lady came over & explained that's the price although I disagreed,then another staff member who took our order arrived to join in letting us know that because we cancelled the main the price of the starter would be the same as the normal menu & we did offer you an alternative but you refused ! Then a Male arrived defending the female member of staff telling me the head chef & himself who ever he was had tried the steak we returned and found nothing wrong with it.As a customer I found it very intimidating to raise a concern about a bill enquiry then be faced with two other staff ? Defending the restaurant. Two courses £10.95 We were charged 1 pate £5.95 1 soup 4.95 So your telling me a steak costs £5.00 ? Well your quality of steak must be low and your customer service is appalling but as you agreed it's all about your standards and your Head Chefs that's sitting there drinking coffee.NEVER TO RETURN check out Tripadvisor and ensure your staff know your menu as the waitress didn't even know what the soup of the day was & we received a warm bottle of Chardonnay if we're going...

Party of 9 ……Christmas meal . Starters okay , mains most ok , my roast beef dinner was tasteless , veg tasted bad , roast pots had funny taste , I ate beef on plate which was the edible thing. 1 meal arrived cold so sent back and one meal arrived 15 minutes after the rest . Then had sweets and coffees . When bill arrived it was wrong as items on it that we hadn’t eaten , it went back and waitress came back and said it was ours to which we said no it wasn’t so it went back again . It came back with the items then showing as a minus . We asked for a bill which showed our items only to be told we couldn’t so we had to work it out ourselves . We did and there was £25 difference. We wrote our items on the back of the bill and gave it back to the waitress. After another 30 minutes still no one came back so I went to speak to the manager to be told in an aggressive manner that the bill was correct and the reasons why it wasn’t etc. He came to the table and one of my friends have been spoken to by the waitress before I came back in an aggressive manner . There was an apology but just felt it was lip service. Eventually we paid after over an hour if trying to do so and then left and won’t be returning as it was a very disappointing evening both with the food and...

Lovely restaurant, attentive waitress. We had a large table for a birthday, the restaurant was quiet. All the food was lovely and the bill was substantial as it is a bit pricey for what it is, however it is independently owned. An issue with one of the meals was addressed by replacing the meal with something different, however when we got the bill, the meal was still on there. I asked for it to be removed to be told I would need to pay for the other meal I ordered. Had I know this was to be the case I wouldn't have ordered another meal as I ate on my own as everyone else had finished their food. The replacement meal was also not nice (pork) was told it had been vacuum packed and cooked for 10 hours, however the pancetta was soggy and the flavour wasn't great. Was told 2 meals had been cooked for me so therefore I needed to pay for one of them. I was a bit put out as I would have never had to do this anywhere else, especially a chain restaurant. It's a shame that this issue will stop us from returning, which is unfortunate. All the rest of the food was lovely, especially the bruschetta. The waitress was great and attentive, so thank you.
