Oodles collaborates with 'Too Good to Go' app which is a food waste reduction app. You pay to reserve food and whatever (if ever) food is remaining end of day is passed onto you. Yes you can't predict how much food will be left but that is the risk you take when you are paying with an intent to rescue food and do good to the community. With all this nobel Intent I also bought the Magic box for £2.49 fully aware that it is kind of a lottery :-).
On reaching the store an hour before their closing time and within the collection time suggest by the app, I saw that there were 8 to 9 trays of food left in the display counter. The app had total of 5 slots of which only one was sold, therfore there was no one else who would have bought the food to rescue from going to waste. Now I know that in the remaining 1 hour that the store would have still be open it would receive some footfall/orders but there was no way it could have sold more than 50% of what was displayed(my best guess).
The store chose to gave me only 1 small portion of food which was no where close to what they would have left over that night. ( The food portion was definitely not in proportion to the money I paid but the intent was not the amount of food to receive but the quantity of food that could be saved)
I believe the store did not act in the true spirit of saving food wastage, rather it has collaborated with the food saving app with sole commercial intent.
I have reached out to toogoodtogo but would also like the owners to know that you break people's trust when you do such deeds. It is not wrong to make profits but it is wrong to make profits in disguise of charity while your deeds are far from charity.
Wish you all the good luck to grow your business...
Read moreUnfortunately not a good visit. Their standards has been dropping lately but today was the worst. Whilst waiting I noticed non of the staffs had gloves on. The cashier was picking something from under his nails and flicking it. The chef was eating inbtween cooking, licking his fingers and using that same hand to pick up ingredients. I thought maybe it was a one off but I continued to observe. He made a dish n used his fingers to pick up the sauce from the utensil and taste it (what happened to using small spoon?), licking his fingers and saying to his colleagues it too spicy. The then continued to make another dish and without washing his hands (is there a lack of tongs?), he used it to pick up noodles and other ingredients to cook. Even my child was saying that’s yuck he didn’t wash his hangs. I complained to the cashier, she got the other workers had a quick chatter between themselves and one of them says, no he washed his hands. But that particular staff had his back to the chef and was busy chatting (surprised he has eyes behind his back 🤔) He spoke to the chef again than apologised and gave a free fortune cookies to my kid 🤷🏽♀️ I left saying if health Inspector was here, it would’nt have been good news. After today’s experience definitely won’t be...
Read moreI've been ordering Oodles consistently for the past two months via their app. Loved their food so ignored the fact it's always late and most of the times I've had to call to chase. Today's experience has left me particularly peeved. I had placed a Scheduled order this evening for 8.45pm, I had a phonecall to ask if it could be sent earlier, I explained I wouldn't be home any earlier than 8.45pm. They end up sending the order just over 15mins early. I rang to complain and they said it was sent earlier in case of traffic (on a Sunday late evening?!). So I came home to some cold food. Jokers. Being a small business owner myself I understand the importance of Customer service and loyal customers, I've requested a refund but won't be holding my breath. Just in case the comeback is that I was called back and they offered to re-send the food, I declined. With all the traffic they might get into god knows how long it...
