Pickle's Sandwich Bar — Restaurant in England

I came here to grab some lunch as I was advised by a friend/colleague who had picked theirs up an hour before.

The shop itself is small but cosy. Pictures are plastered all over the walls, giving a lounge type of feeling where a few people had been waiting in line. There were 4 girls working and the owner or manager who was very friendly. The menu was very interesting as not only did it say what each filling was (as in what came with that particular filling) but it had a flag next to it indicating the country in which it represents (well in my view that is).

I went for the memphis 3, which was incredible!! Hot BBQ pulled pork with coleslaw and nachos in a baguette! i don't know how, but it worked. The size of the baguette was really good and wasn't a tiny flimsy thing. I also had the spicy chicken goujons, which for someone who isn't into spice much was surprising pleased as they weren't that spicy (it had a kick but not enough to shed a tear) if only I had taken a photo of it 🤦🏻‍♂️

The price for me was good as even though you're paying around £5-£10 you get your monies worth!

Being it lunch time, the staff were really efficient and looked to have organised chaos in full flow.

All in all, I was really really pleased with pickles as it's hard to find a good sandwich shop which not only is good on taste but actually gives you what you paid for. I'm definitely coming...

Today I visited Pickles on my lunch break from work and was absolutely appaled at the service i recieved- or didnt recieve!

I walked in to the shop where I was the only customer and stood at the counter and neither of the ladies working even looked up to acknowledge me. They were making sandwiches and didn't even say hello. then a man walked in and they greeted him by his name and handed him a sandwich he must have pre-ordered.

After he left they continued to ignore me and so I sat down thinking that they will get to me when they were finished making the sandwiches they were doing at the time. Then another gentlemen walked up to the counter and straight away they acknowledged him and proceeded to ask his order! I walked out and am absolutely never going back.

I understand looking after your regular customers but outright ignoring new customers and serving others before the first and ONLY customer in the shop to begin with is appalling.

I will not be returning which is a shame because i have heard the food is quite nice, shame the customer service...

If I had the option to give 0 star I would do, the one member of staff in was more interested in making herself a smoothly and instead of paying attention to me a was given a very rude and sarcastic response, even though I was waiting for me friend to decide what they wanted. the was another person in the shop at the time and was not made clear that this person was not being served. Very rude, never been spoken to like that as a paying customer before!
