Changing my review from three years ago when I gave it three stars down to one star. There are multiple reasons for this; the restaurant is cashless, you have to order through an app which is barely functional, the prices are shocking, generally untidy/ unclean/ unkempt, the pizza was substandard and the salad and sauces tasted completely fake.
My first point: cashless. Why? I don't feel I need to expand on this point.
Second: an app to order food? Most people go to a sit down restaurant to be served and receive service from a waiter/ waitress. I was completely turned off from the whole restaurant experience when having to use an app.
Third: prices. We ordered one large stuff crust pizza, one individual pizza and four drinks. Our total came out to just under £70! Granted we didn't use any deals, but we didn't want to order food we didn't want/ weren't going to eat. £70 for two pizzas and four drinks is insane, especially when there was no one serving us.
Fourth: general untidiness. You'd think with staff having far fewer responsibilities now that the restaurant would be kept a little more clean and tidier. Maybe it's just that the restaurant needs a little renovation; but when we're paying £70 for two pizzas and four drinks, you'd think they'd be able to afford to re-do some bits of paint etc!
Fifth: food quality. Maybe it was just me and my family and our preferences, but the food seems to have gone really downhill. The sauces had very strange flavours to them. The pizza was very greasy and the only real flavour we got was from the garlic or whatever it was that they seem to add to all pizzas. For the price, I'd expect proper gourmet level food with handcrafted sourdough bases and handmade sauce with proper mozzarella; obviously what you get here is straight up American style...
Read moreI had a very very bitter experience tonight as the service was really bad to us. I dined in with my family for my Friend's Birthday with 3kids(7yrs ,8yrs and 2yr old)+2Adults. I ordered for big sharer pizza £39.99. While ordering i asked the staff(Amanda) if the salad bowl is unlimited for all or any limited details, she said only 3 salad bowls. She highlighted that twice so i told the kids to be aware. My son said I don't want salad but i want to make a salad for mummy.he went to bring my salad as i was busy with my toddler. The lady stressed again to my son while he was grabbing salad"No sharing salad"(with rude tone), he nodded and brought the salad to me. I was having my salad, other 2 bowl of salad, my Friend and her son were having. The lady again came to our table and said No sharing the salad. We were bit upset for her behaviour and I couldn't stay polite anymore. I said we didn't share. She said my son grabbed the salad and so she said it, why is there no trust for a customer who is choosing this place to celebrate their special day and ppl upset their day by a rude behaviour?? Lady very well knew that we came in for a birthday celebration since i asked her if they do anything special for birthdays in the beginning(she even responded that they don't do much for birthdays). This made our kids very upset, i asked if they could have their dessert now, she again showed her face rude saying the cookie and brownies are still cooking in the oven. The way she said was again rude and disappointing. Very disappointing and we regretted it was not...
Read moreHaven't visited for long time for all the obvious restriction reasons, and I'm happy to say the experience was lovely. Lots of changes to the business as a whole, which have been implemented very well. It's a cashless establishment, but this ties in well with the ordering process. Greeted and seated by very presentable and cheerful staff, who gave us menus and explained we could order through the app by scanning our table's QR code, or with them in the usual manner. "For anything you need, please just ask us." For some restaurants I've visited that have adopted this type of app system, it's been a close-to-terrible experience, and although some of the appeal of eating out is the luxury of table service, I elected to give the app a go for ordering. IT WORKS! Faultlessly. As easy as pointing to the items on the menu in front of me. Suggested deals for each main that was picked, which actually did make sense instead of just being an upsell technique. Ordered and paid for in moments for Dad, Mum and two mid-teens. Only strange thing was the app asking how much tip to add. Seemed odd doing it before the meal, but this is when payment was made, so... Drinks, salad bowls etc, were with us in mere minutes, and by the time we had done most of the salad, the mains and sides arrived. All at the same time, all piping hot. All served with a smile. Food was great tasting, and plenty for the portion sizes. We had a proper blowout feast to mark the end of my son's mock exams, and daughter has asked to come here after her next karate belt test. So definitely...
