Ishtar Lounge — Restaurant in England

My friend had a birthday meal at this place as the last time we came here it was fantastic. BUT I can tell you right now I wasted my money this time round. We were a party of about 20 people (booked in advance)we had a separate room for us which was good but the tables were separate so if we wanted to speak to our friends we would have to go to another table. Then we waited and waited and waited for the bar staff to come and ask us what we wanted to drink and they didn't so we had to go to the bar. Then we waited and waited for someone to take our food order no one came to our table and no one even gave us a menu. Worst part of it all was when they gave us a menu they just gave ONE manky menu to share between 20 people I knew from that point everything was gonna go down hill and to top it off we were told by someone else that it was an outdated menu. One of my friends had an orange juice which smelt of but they did give her another drink. Then mine and my partners food turned up however the staff member couldn't even be bothered to bring it to our table it was annoying as we had already waited 30 mins just for the starter (hummus and bits of bread) we didn't even get cutlery until I asked for it!!! Absolutely disgusting service so far and no apology! The chicken burger was dry and chewy the buns looked like the were from a Tesco multi pack and the chips weren't even cooked properly! My partner refused to eat his food went and spoke to the manager and when he asked for a refund the guy said we cannot refund you money if you've paid by card!! But he did give us 2 cans of coke. Baring mind we got to the place at 19:40 and left at 9:30 four other people who ordered at the same time as us still didn't have their food in front of them!!! All I can say is this was the worst service I have ever recieved at a restaurant no apology no sympathy the bar staff couldn't have cared if we got our stuff or not!! The waitress could have made more of an effort in welcoming it was more of a stare hello than a pleased welcome how are you etc. The order came out fairly quick considering we were the only family dining of 5 and there was one couple finishing. The food portion was decent although the chicken wings could have been more healthier appeared to be more of quails wings than chicken hardly any meat but decent flavour. The waitress changed shift but prior did not bother if our food was fine or we needed anything else and we did need some more drinks in fairness the whole atmosphere felt as if the place was more so aimed at Shisha lounge than food scene as the men behind the counter were more interested in the customers coming in and out of the shisha lounge. The gentleman behind the counter could do we a smile and cheer up although was reactive to what was asked of him he seemed a little disengaged of his duties and overall we did not feel any priority given. The service was dull I had to get up a few times to ask for certain things not once this anyone come over to ask how is everything. I would advise to perhaps try with a friend for a quick lunch and chat but would not recommend for a large family experience as the service was not desirable especially if you will be...

Upon arriving Ishtar lounge, I already seen canisters outside laying around the car park with alcohol bottles everywhere. The toilets are horrendous and not taken care of properly . I came a couple weeks ago on a Saturday or Friday and they were very short staffed ? The workers were running around and my group got their drinks late along with the food seeing as it’s a well know place it would be more considerate of the owner having more staff on a typically busy day. The tables outside are all dirty and have marks all over them . I went into the lady section for shisha and our tables was unstable . Absolutely appalling 😡😡. There was also loads of gents smoking cannabis outside which smelt bad .we had also been told to buy 2 shishas as there were 5 of us and the staff has said that was the rules of the place but then I had seen groups of people going in without any shisha and they hadn’t been stopped, In my opinion it’s so unfair upon other people who don’t smoke but...
