PizzaExpress — Restaurant in England

Went for dinner in the evening and sat at the front near the windows.

Overall the service was incredibly slow! Another customer who was there with her young daughter also commented on how slow the service was saying, “they’re always under staffed here”.

Finally got our food which was nice but the pizza I ordered was meant to have salad in the middle but it was just a LOT of rocket. No other salad at all which I didn’t think was right.

Asked a staff member and he said, sorry must be a mistake in the kitchen, it’s meant to have some spinach leaves too.

The menu said, “salad”, which I’m sure most people would assume should contain more than just rocket and/or a few spinach leaves.

Thought we would try Pizza Express for lunch today. Big mistake. Chose to sit in the outside garden as the weather was lovely. Waitress took our order promptly, however we waited over an hour for our mains. When asked why the delay was told that there was only one chef and she was trying her best! Never saw our waitress to refill drinks or keep us updated. They had a delivery with the lorry idling next to us while a man in hi vis jacket kept coming past with his trolley. Food was tasty when it arrived. Pizzas with classic bases seemed very thin - maybe a Romano delivered by mistake? Just wanted to hop on and give a huge shout out to the absolute diamond that is Natalie at Pizza Express Marlborough. Dining at a restaurant we know and love for it's family friendly atmosphere for my husband's birthday was a no-brainer - but on clock change day, it was still a great risk...(don't know about other parents out there, but our children don't care much for outer clocks when their inner clocks tell them it's time to get up...) Natalie went above and beyond what could possibly have been expected, bringing our son back from the brink of utter exhaustion a good few times and charming our ultra-shy daughter into placing her very first order ever herself.
