A perfectly good Italian restaurant, if you have never been to a good Italian restaurant. Pleasant upstairs setting overlooking the harbour. No bookings taken so you turn up and wait. Service was pleasant, friendly but rushed - felt like there was a target to have diners leave within an hour or so. Everyone was in a hurry. Starters of mussels and ciabata ai funghi were fresh and good. Prawns in a tomato, parmesan and cream sauce was a rich tasting and generous main course but the sauce was thin and dribbly. The chicken and mushroom tagliatelle contained overcooked and dry chicken, overcooked pasta and not enough sauce. The ice cream was average. The lemon torte tasted OK and might have been fresh yesterday. The Terazzo Falangina was very good - a second bottle had not been chilled and was sent back to be replaced. I think this is a restaurant that is aimed at holidaymakers and is not concerned to attract regular customers. Three courses for two people with two bottles of wine came to £127 without service - average for Padstow (where there are lots of other restaurants).

This place is rated 3 stars because of the long wait time (45 minutes) and the apparent disappointment from the pizza. Now you probably thinking “he’s crazy, this place sounds really disappointing,” However the pasta dish I had was one of my favourite dishes I had all holiday. It was delicious and had some long Italian name I can’t remember but I do know it was the only pasta dish with three chillies. Someone else also enjoyed a creamy gnocchi. 2 members of my family had a pizza and they were disappointed. Apparently the dough was not nice and the toppings felt like they had been frozen for an age. It overlooked the Padstow bay. I wouldn’t recommend for large parties during the height of the busy summer as you could be waiting a long time for a table. I’m also not sure if you could book. The wait was made better by the fact you could sit and order drinks in a wait area. There’s also a specials board so look out for that. I enjoyed but others were disappointed with the quality.

Lovely little place. After a lovely family walk, we all decided to go for an Italian, so we picked Pucelli's. We had medium sized family lunch with some pizzas, pastas and burgers on the menu. The atmosphere was lovely, staff really friendly. Then when it comes to the food, there is place for improvements. I'm not an Italian, but I can make way better pizzas. The pizza dough wasn't enjoyable, it was soggy and didn't have any authentic pizza taste. The pasta, according to my wife was absolutely lovely. The burgers, well they might look great, but taste wise wasn't so great. Burger pattie was a bit tasteless and the chips (french fries) were fried in burnt oil I would think so. A 'burger king' tastes much better to be honest. Even though I'm not an eater of fast foods. This said, I think the overall experience was decent. Being an Italian restaurant, the atmosphere and the location tops up the disappointment and the overall experience.

SERVICE IS RUBBISH. DO NOT RECOMMEND. Firstly walked into no welcome or greeting just got told they will be with us in a minute, after waiting for 5 minutes we just got told to choose our own table to sit at, we asked to change to a different table near the window before we had ordered anything because the table had become available, and the waitress made us seem like we was asking for a lot and was making us feel like a problem and said that it was really stressful and hard for them, however there was no speed in anything and none of the staff seemed to care about the service and didn’t have a good attitude to bring to the restaurant. Considering we had just got there there was no effort to make us feel welcomed, waiters obviously had no communication between each other because they came and asked for our food order before they had taken our drinks, we then moved table but got given the wrong drink order but had waited long enough already so didn’t want to ask for the correct drink to wait another 10 mins for it to be brung to us. By this point we was questioning whether to leave or not. Waited another 20 minutes for our food order to be taken but when the waiter came over he didn’t even listen to what we said and just looked around unbothered. While we’re waiting for our food other customers are talking to each other complaining about the service and food it didn’t seem like anyone was impressed. Food came out faster then the drinks however my mum asked for a Medium cooked steak and it may aswell of been rare and was bloody, her tomatoes were also supposed to be “roasted” however were just warm and hard my chicken was dry and without the sauce wouldn’t be pleasant after eating my stomach felt unwell. Apart from the mains our sides of potatoes and a salad were quite nice. But while we were eating our correct drink order came to the table and we had to send it away as we didn’t want to get charged anymore money at a disappointing restaurant so asked for some water however it never showed so asked again and only got brung ice and glasses 10 minutes later with no water. Our plates got left on our tables for a while along with a lot of other people’s the man beside us had kids and i would not recommend bringing kids here as theres long waiting periods for everything and even we was getting impatient i can’t imagine how they felt. And because of this didn’t get deserts as we was fed up of waiting (they also didn’t come to ask if we wanted any deserts so i had to go get a menu off another table myself). I’ve never wrote a review but it was so terrible here i felt as though i had to and after reading the reviews it obviously wasn’t just a one time thing. We did not check the bill before paying but i’ve seen people saying they were over charged so will be looking tomorrow. Just want to add in don’t sit near the toilets as you can hear...

*This seems to occur often based on other reviews

amazing atmosphere and location that is massively let down by poor service and average (expensive) food. We were served by no less than 4 wait staff which is probably why it was so poor.

After arriving before 5pm it took over 30 minutes before our drinks and food order was taken, which the only beer ordered was missing. When queried it took a other 10 minutes for it to arrive, with a 2nd following 10 minutes later with the starters.

At that time due to the lengthy wait for the drinks we asked for the 2 kids cheesy macaroni to come whenever possible. These arrived within 10 minutes, just as the starters were finished, but we're too hot to touch.

We then waited, and waited for our mains to arrive, and after another 30 minutes one of the wait staff came to say that the mains were going to be late as the chef thought he made them when he sent out the kids pasta. When the mains arrived (chorizo & crayfish macaroni / pizza) they were so overloaded with cheese there wasn't any flavour, just cheese. The pizza was so wet with cheese that it could only be eaten with a knife and fork.

When we asked for the bill it arrived with 3 other meals charged to our table (approx £50 extra).

When I challenged the staff at the end of the meal about the 2 hour service for a beer, 2 starters, 3 plates of macaroni and a pizza I was greeted with rude looks and contempt for even bringing it up. After sending the wait staff away 3 times the manager finally came over and we settled the bill.

This amazing venue is very inviting and has a prime location, but is spoiled by the people who run it.

Not a great experience at all. The staff took 15 minutes to take a drinks order, our drinks arrived after our starter and were wrong. For our main course my partner ordered the lasagne, which had obviously been frozen (evident by the amount of water in the dish and when cut into the lasagne sunk into a swampy mess), he found a piece of paper in the middle. No one came to check the food was ok so we spent a fair while trying to get the attention of either of the waiting staff. After we drew attention of the waiter, he offered my partner a replacement which he did not want (given the lasagne was watery and contained more mushroom than mince in the filling) and then asked what he wanted to do, did not offer a refund until we asked for it. The waiter then left the plate on the table for five minutes by which point I was done with the fairly sub par flavourless chicken pasta I had ordered which was overcooked, grey and lacked sauce. It took a further 15 minutes for anyone to come and speak to us at which point we were pushed towards having a dessert which we stated multiple times we did not want. When the bill did arrive the lasagne was still listed, this was corrected but over the whole order there was no apology and it came accross as though neither of the floor waiting staff wanted to be there or cared.

Such a shame as we first went in April and had  lovely meal, and given the cost of eating out it is not something we are able to do regularly so to have such a bad meal was disappointing to...
