We visited the Rectory Farm Tearoom in March 2022. Both me and my eldest girl are dairy free and after searching during a visit to Bude we found this little gem. We are always excited when we find somewhere that caters for our allergy...but unfortunately usually leave feeling disappointed (non in stock, book in advance, only 1 choice etc). But we were definitely not left disappointed this time...from the minute we arrived the atmosphere was amazing, such a quaint old ie worldie setting...the drive was most definitely worth it (and boy did my other half complain lol but even he admitted he would do it again after he lapped up the whole experience). When I asked the lovely ladies if they had any dairy free scones avalible for a cream tea they explained they didn't have a cream alternative but could do them with spread and jam... we jumped at the chance!! They went on to tell us about other sweet alternatives (yes that's right, there was more than 1 choice) ...we were spoilt for choice!! My other half had a traditional cream tea too and he loved it, the scones were freshly out of the oven and still warm...oh my gosh I'm salivating as I'm typing!! We also asked for a take away for later as we were so impressed (they don't offer this in busy months). We highly recommend this place, and next time we are down that way we will be paying another visit...or 3!!

This is probably one of the most picturesque and beautiful tea rooms I've visited and I've done a few! The tea, coffee and hot chocolates are very very good here, but it's the food that is so special at this tea room. The sandwiches are light and tasty, the cream teas to die for they literally are an idealic texture and size with enough cream to sink a battleship 😅 There is a wide ranging gluten-free menu and cream tea, and they cater very well for intolerances etc. The staff are all lovely and very happy to serve and assist which helps set the atmosphere and experience. The loos are very clean although disabled may have some difficulty getting through in a wheel chair, but not impossible. Overall a fantastic venue to an afternoon tea and a light meal, I've uploaded some pics of the menu to give an idea, but I really do recommend you try this quaint and beautiful place for a tea with family and a walk along the coastline after to work of the calories gained! Enjoy! The

Took my daughter and 2 grandchildren out for afternoon tea. The standard of food and service is wonderful. I am not a connoisseur of sandwiches, cakes and scones but my daughter most certainly is and she rated it very highly. The sandwiches are made to order so are beautifully fresh- no dried crusts here. The variety of cakes is excellent and all home made and the addition of fresh fruit; blueberries, strawberries, grapes and apple completes a sumptuous meal. All served with loose leaf tea of our choice, endless hot water to refresh the pot and Luscombe drinks for the children. Iced jugs of water completed this particularly hot day in a beautiful English country garden. The dogs were also well catered for with dog biscuits and water. The staff are also as wonderful as the food. Highly recommend and will definitely return

NOT COVID-19 SECURE! Visited for cream tea. Nice rural location near the coast line. Nice to read about the history of the place.

Tea list was good including Cornish selection!

The reason for marking the tea rooms down is the fact that they do not abide by current covid-19 requirements. Patrons were entering the premises with no face coverings at all. There were patrons walking around inside with no face masks. Two people brought dogs through the tea roomsz again wearing no facemasks, and disappeared off somewhere. I'm not sure if they were owners? Or perhaps there are lodgings here too? The waiting staff did nothing about the failure of patrons to abide by the government requirements to wear face coverings. This requirement was brought in for a reason and we are currently experiencing the highest levels of COVID-19 infections to date. If you are concerned about the pandemic and safety, I would advise you not to visit.

A couple of other gripes;

As a party of two, we ordered two different types of tea but we were served one big pot of tea.

When ordering strawberry jam and rhubarb and ginger jam, we were incorrectly served strawberry jam and currant jam. I know mistakes can happen so it's not a massive criticism on the staff. The tea issue was...
