TERRIBLE!! Didnt even get to taste the food!! Heard good things about this place, so for a 9 people get together we thought we'd try Red Panda. Ā£110 order placed on the phone, all good. They said they only take cash on delivery - I asked if I could pay instant bank transfer, they said not. Who in this day and age has cash at home these days?! However, I did have the cash ready, but would have preferred to pay by card as my Dad was paying. The order was placed, I was told it would be 70-80 minutes, not a problem. He said I could pay online on the website, but would have to enter all the items in so to go through to the payment section. I said I'd give it a go, if not we would scrape together the cash between us to pay on delivery. As far as I was concerned, order had been placed. I did express my concern that entering it online might create a duplicate order and didn't want to pay Ā£220. The man said, this wouldn't happen, I just needed to put a note in the comments box stating the order already had been placed on the phone and was just paying online. During my 80 minute wait I proceeded to enter online, took about 30 mins, a right ball ache - trying to get the total to match, got to the total, it then added delivery charge so I was over the total, went to go back a screen and lost the whole order!!š” Decided that we'd have to pay cash. Anyway, 80 minutes passed and I called to check where the order was, after hearing them in the background, the lady came to the phone and told me there was no order placed š¤·āāļøš”. They said that I was told the order wasn't put through because I was paying online and the order had to be placed online. I was furious, they offered to put the order through again but would have to wait 45-50 minutes, so I told them to shove it and then placed the order on the phone with my usual trusty Chinese takeaway, New Kwong Lee in Liskeard who have never let us down, they had the order ready in 15 minutes. So I won't be going to Red...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreJust ordered our first takeaway from Red Panda since moving here 19 months ago, and BOY, do we wish we'd done it sooner! We ordered online with delivery as it's lockdown and it was a birthday treat (also in person, they only take cash). The menu is MASSIVE and took a while to choose, with some unusual items and flavours, definately a lot different to any other takeaway we've ever used. The order was to take 40 minutes but in fact turned up within 30, the food was all hot, fresh and tasty. We had a few of our favourites plus a new one called Red Panda Special Crispy Honey Soya which was amazing . The honey soya is the sauce with crispy pieces of giant King prawns, chicken and pork in it. DELICIOUS! The whole meal was amazing and so much food that we will have it again tomorrow! The prices were average for Chinese but you do get loads of food and it's all so fresh and succulent, who cares?! We will definately absolutely use Red...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWeāve eaten in and had many take aways.
For a Chinese take away the food is decent and there is plenty of choice, for that Iād definitely recommend it. Some dishes donāt live up to expectations thoughā¦very odd that the egg fried rice for example has never had any trace of egg in it - 100% rice only all the time.
The food is very expensive though and every single time I go (once every 6 weeks or so) items have increased in price and continue to do so.
Eating in is even more expensive and the portions are smaller (2 rather than 3 spring rolls and small portions of all other dishes especially rice etc), really not worth it when the surroundings arenāt greatā¦add to that ārandomsā (like drivers) are sitting around just below the restaurant part chatting.
Iāll continue to use this place for takeaway because the food is good on the whole, but, only about half the time I would if the prices werenāt almost the same as eating...
