Really lovely place, beautiful garden area and dog friendly. Went there with a group of 4 people today, one of us being a vegetarian, which seems to be a big problem from them. Only 1 item on entire menu is vegetarian, which is a very poor show in the day and age! I asked is ANYTHING could be made as I did not like the one option they had on the menu and the reply was “everything as pre-made and they can’t make anything else” To be honest I would have had a Brie sandwich or chip buttie but it all seemed too much effort. So none of us ate there, and I felt bad for making all the family having to get up and go somewhere else, but luckily a pub just next door that had many options and even a veg Sunday roast, I was spoilt for choice. So we ate at the Duke of Edinburgh instead. No apology was given when we said we could not eat due to lack of choice, but was told they will be doing one soon. I’m not the only vegetarian in Ascot, but if you’re vegan........ don’t go here. If you love meat and fish I would highly recomend eating here, the food looks great, just leave your veggie...
Read moreWe went for a Valentines treat food is great but the lady who is probably Head of House could be better, found it very cold and not friendly other customers were not spoken to in a friendly manner in front of us and they could do with a happy lot of staff in the restaurant mainly the vibe from the head of house was very stern and no smiles just a stern approach to the customers. Also to go on Instagram to view the Valentines menu was a bit naff! No menu on the tables for Valentines night! It suits SM people but older generations this wouldn’t work with and not everyone is an Instagrama!!! Getting phones out in a restaurant/bistro on Valentines night to look at their menu is a no no for me. It used to be friendlier but the food is very good so if you go just ignore the miserable head of house lady in the restaurant maybe it was just a bit stressy...
Read moreWe had a truly delightful experience on Easter Monday. We called prior to arrival and were made feel very welcome: the kitchen would only open in about 45mins but we could have drinks while waiting. The place is lovingly presented and well kept. The team is hard working, they do their best and truly care. The food is delicious and calling us back yet we live an hour away. My husband had lamb and was impressed. I was apprehensive about my bouillabaisse but it was just perfect. Our son had a burger, so much better than in places we dined around the last few days. The deserts are tremendous, we kept sharing and chatting about them, all exited. We had Eton Mess and The White Choc Smth, a great take on a sticky pudding. Very good value for money and positively unforgettable. When we are back, this is the first place we’d visit. Thanks...
