As close to perfection as any man, woman or child could ever fathom. Come with me on this taste-bud-tantalising journey as I share with you my personal experience with what turned out to be a truly sublime café.
Every visit begins with a purpose; and mine was to discover any local treasures as I am new to the area. I have to say I was astonished to have struck gold on my first attempt. My previous local eatery was satisfactory at best, but I now wonder if even that was a generous mindset for me to have. Allow me to give you all a full review of my experience, in hopes that you too can find the gem you desire.
Full Cost- £22ish Completely forgot the cost of each individual item. Please forgive me it truly is an amateur mistake, but then again I am mature.
Latte- Presented as you would expect from any high-end cafe, with the bonus addition of a mug that could hold a substantial amount. If looks could kill then this review wouldn't exist. Thankfully the taste followed suit and made for a perfect way to start the day. 10/10
Smoothie (Berry Blast)- Portion size? Tick Presentation? Tick Taste? Tick Health benefits? Well I'm not a nutritionist but I'll be damned if that's not some sort of a Tick. Rose red in colour and smooth to the eye, the Berry Blast beverage blessed and caressed my taste buds before providing me with nutritional supplement to improve my morning. Came with a straw that didn't disintegrate at any point, yet remained a more environmentally friendly alternative to the old classic. Who knew this was possible, and can they tell some of the fast food powerhouses please? 9.8/10
Rustic Breakfast- Presentation is vital to the impact of the whole dining experience. I'm sure most of you reading can remember tasting something quite wonderful but being almost put-off by it's aesthetic, or potentially its aroma. First impressions are key, and the taste becomes of lesser value when the appearance and smell are lacking excitement. Well the Rustic Breakfast came out looking sexier than Dimitar Berbatov in the 2-0 victory against West Ham in 2008. The aroma from my one plate was enough to leave the outside dining area, in which I was seated alone, potent with the familiar feeling of waking up and smelling the bacon. I was won over before I'd even tickled my lips. But so what? How was the taste? Ladies, gentleman and all wonderful people of all associated titles; I can confirm that this breakfast was simply incredible. The bacon was crispy, the sausage was herby and succulent and the egg yolk was handled to perfection. The hash brown was beyond all expectation, aligned with the beans which were given attention to be made creamy and delicious. To top it off, two of the harder components to perfect in the black pudding and mushrooms were sublime and I really do mean sublime. The toast came out lightly buttered which is perfect for me, and what I liked about this was that the waitress explained to me that it was lightly buttered, and also offered to adjust to adapt to customer preference. If im being harsh and overly critical, I would say that I had to spend extra to have 2 sausages rather than one, 2 rahers of bacon rather than one and to have a hash brown. Whilst I think the portion size without these additions would have been slightly too small, I understand that this isn't too dissimar to other cafes locally. Truly however, I do not mind paying the extra for what turned out to be a truly fantastic breakfast which would be worthy of a higher price. Delicious delicious delicious. 9.3/10
The only other fault would be that the seats outside were slightly uncomfortable when seated for over 20 minutes, but I do factor in to that the fact that I am quite substantially above average build. The atmosphere and interior was otherwise wonderful. The staff were friendly and attentive without being intrusive- faultless to the definition. Rustic Cafe will have my ongoing custom and I wish them every success with their...
Read moreI had an incredibly disappointing experience at the restaurant. From the moment I walked in, I wasn't greeted or welcomed. I waited for ages, but no one bothered to come and take my order. The lack of hospitality and overall terrible service left a sour taste in my mouth. I won't be returning to this place again.
It's essential for businesses, regardless of their size, to uphold fundamental ethics of equal and respectful treatment. I observed that while I was ignored, everyone who came in after me was promptly greeted and served. Such behavior is unacceptable and reflects discrimination. Every customer, regardless of the size of their business, deserves equal treatment. It's important for restaurants to understand that actions like these have consequences.I hope you take this feedback seriously and make the necessary changes to ensure a fair and respectful environment for all patrons. I stand firmly by my review, reflecting the bitterness of the unpleasant experience I encountered during my morning breakfast. It's my hope that by sharing my feedback, others can be forewarned about the possibility of facing similar...
Read moreLocation-wise, sitting in a quiet shopping area with parking available around the corner is hard to beat. The atmosphere is, however, a bit of a challenge. If the weather allows it, I recommend going for one of the outside tables (there are 3) as sitting inside poses a challenge due to the sounds coming from what seemed like a blender that was very often running. A pity as, when quiet, it was quite comfortable to be sitting there. Service was good, with quick order taking and alright speed in serving. Items, while well presented, felt a bit flavourless to my taste, with eggs Benedict feeling like they had no hollandaise sauce, despite being covered by some sauce.
In summary, a place with potential in service unfortunately cut short by indoors atmosphere and lackluster food in terms of...
