Me and my dad wanted something to eat early on so we decided on the spotted cow. Used to come here all the time when younger. I was going to have a light bite but my eyes got stuck on the all day breakfast, with a pot of tea, toast and marmalade, dad pinched the marmalade. it was so good and plenty of it, dad got scrambled egg on toast and a big pot of tea. It is what it is!! Not intentionally a retro cafe, but one that just hasn’t made it out of the 1970s yet: wooden cabinets, rickety tables with fablon imitation wood plastic covers, applied with wrinkled ages. The cheap and cheerfulness is almost an attraction in itself. Not high dining, but nevertheless a good basic cafe, with good wholesome food and smiley service. And well supported by locals.
