28 Sep lunchtime. I am allergic to many raw ingredients but I like Subway as you get to choose. Ran out of meatballs so I asked for chicken instead. For some reason known only to themselves they insisted on putting in onion (severe allergy) and sweetcorn (unable to digest).
Thankfully I was paying attention and stopped the attempt at poisoning me. I asked for just tomato. No, apparently, only set ingredients so attempted to add the onion again!
I refused yet again so she stormed off into the back. Getting VERY close to storming off myself several minutes later she reappeared just as I was LOUDLY saying to my wife to leave it as I'm not being forced to eat stuff I'm allergic to.
Apparently now ON THIS OCCASION ONLY (very emphasised) I can have tomato but not again. I walked off and my wife paid so I didn't react.
To summarise, if you have allergies you are not permitted to avoid such ingredients in Subway, even though perfectly adequate alternative ingredients are right there in front of the server. Additionally expect to be reprimanded in front of everyone for having allergies. Read moreThe worst food establishment I have ever encountered. There was no ‘hi’ or ‘hello’. Just one woman pointing to another which didn’t speak English. After standing there awkwardly for a moment I told them what I wanted, having not been asked if I wanted cheese or toasted; they automatically did it. They then assumed that I was with the 3 other people stood behind me, leaving me to wait at the payment till whilst they take their order, AND THEN asking if we were together. I was then beckoned back up the prep line and the woman then asked what salad dressings I would like, to confuse peppers from onions. One lady then just said the price, where I then had to reiterate I wanted a meal. When questioning why there was such poor service they was speaking to one another in their own language and sadly for them; having Pakistani friends I understand some foul language.
