We’ve been here a few times for ice cream while visiting family in the lakes, and I love it every time! There’s quite a selection of flavours and there’s always something new and different on offer. You pay a bit of a premium but it’s really a very premium product, and a treat to know the milk is really local.
I had a scoop each of white chocolate, cherry, and pomegranate. I was really intrigued to see how the pomegranate would taste in an ice cream and it was truly heavenly, but the white chocolate was a real stand out for me, not too sweet and just so smooth and creamy. The staff were really friendly, too.
You can sit outside on the picnic tables or do what we did and sit on the grass by the church. Just be sensible and considerate of traffic and the local area; as you should anywhere in the lakes.
We parked in the little car park by the church but I imagine it’s heaving during high season.

Read moreLovely attentive servers who clearly knew about the food on offer and good home made food is always a bonus. Menu is limited but definately go if you like homemade pie as they have lots of different fillings including veggie option. We had steak pies with mash and gravy which had lots of delicious meat in and lovely crust. My daughter had vegan soup which she said was good but the soup bowl wasn't as big as I like but I'm quite greedy with soup 🤭 Good range of drinks with milk options for vegans and the cakes looked delicious but we didn't try any. More tables upstairs in a spacious, airy room but carrying a tray of drinks up there was a bit of a challange. That said, the server took drinks to a table near to us so Im sure if I'd asked they would have done this for us. Overall a pleasant experience on a wet blustery day and with...
