What has happened to Table 8? I have sold this restaurant to friends for years. My husband and I went in today to be greeted by new staff who evidently do not understand service etiquette. Restaurant was empty bar a table of two and the waiter attempted to seat us next to them, a foot apart which we refused. Offered a pint glass for my wine!!!!! Had to request a stemmed one. Ordered starters, no problem with the food at all. However whilst clearing the starter plates away, the waiter asked if we would keep our used knives and forks, due to the fact that they were fully booked and had nobody washing up!!!!!!!! Really !!!!! I did think he was joking but obviously wasn’t. He didn’t come back to replenish our cutlery so when our main courses arrived I had to take cutlery from empty table next to us. Plus:::: on arrival of a local couple that use the restaurant regularly, they were told to come back at 4.00 this being at 2.30 or they could go to Wells!!!!!!! My husband and I offered to share our table even though there were only three tables being occupied.

Read moreWe brought stayed in wedmore for a Long weekend. On our last day we really fancied an Indian. I’ve never felt more unwelcome in my lift we asked for a table for four and I wish we had turned around at that point. The waiter walked off while taking our order, we was stuck in the corner, when the restaurant was near on empty. The food was lovely, when my son and husbands desert came out we were forced to pay. They hadn’t even had a mouthful. When I was paying the waiter glared at me until the payment went through. I was so upset with how we were made to feel I could have cried. There was one family at the table when we arrived.. I noticed they were still sat having drinks. I can only come to the conclusion that the way we have been treated is due to us clearly not being local....
Read moreWe visited on the 9th of July or a double celebration. One being a 40th birthday. When we arrived we were made to feel very unwelcome and the service from one member of staff continued to get worse from there on. We tried to ignore the atmosphere, which was felt by the whole table. We ordered starters, but the waiter walked away before we had finished talking. Other comments were made towards us, but it was impossible to ignore the direct laughing and pointing by the one member of staff with other staff members. This was when our table addressed the matter. It was all so unfortunate, as the food was amazing. We had only heard good things about the food, which was correct, but we will not be...
