Taj Cuisine — Restaurant in England

Went here last night for my cousins 19th birthday and I have never experienced such poor customer service in my entire life. As someone who works in hospitality, if I behaved like the waiters did last night I would probably get the sack. First of all, we had our 2 year old with us in which the restaurant was not impressed at. They didn’t have high chairs or a nappy change facility. When I asked if they did they replied ‘No, we have never come across someone asking this before’, which I don’t believe for a second. Reluctantly I had to change my little boy on the chair. The whole time we were having our meal they were staring at our table, huddled at the bar in a circle talking & generally seemed eager for us to leave the whole time we was there. Food took over an hour to come out. When they brought out the food the plates were scorching hot in which they did not worn us about. Over all waiters made us feel very uncomfortable. When we left I forgot about the nappy sack on the chair in which one of the waiters gave to me and said take it home. I refused and asked them to put it in the bin here. After reading all the positive reviews, I was expecting it to be a lovely experience. I placed an order for collection, on first greeting I was told it would take 50 mins, placed my order, was told an hour. Arrived at the Taj an hour after ordering, paid for the food and just stood there waiting. No one said anything to me, literally stood there like a hat stand for 10 minutes, asked how much longer it would take, got told another 10 minutes. Waited. Saw a waiter bring out a bag of food and take it into a room adjacent the bar. A few minutes later, he brings it from the room and says your order is ready. Drive home within 4 minutes and the food is cold. So cold I could stick my finger in it and not even feel it. Luckily my partner had heated the plates so it managed to get heated. The dupiaza was very oily, other dishes where fine, albeit cold. I can't recommend this place as it wasn't a cheap meal, and the quality just wasn't there. Came here for a birthday meal a few years ago and was fantastic. Came back today with a group of 13 and would not recommend. The food was decent, but we got kicked out 2 1/2 hours after our booking as the table was double booked for the night. Restaurant advised it was because we delayed ordering by 30 minutes while we waited for our group to show, but failed to take into account that it took over an hour for our orders to come out. We also skipped starters as well. Furthermore you would expect the restaurant to understand larger groups take longer, I would assume that's why we waited an hour for our main course to arrive. Also we only got offered one round of drinks after we all sat down, one of us even went up to ask for water which shouldn't happen. So all in all, we were there for 2 1/2 hours and yes we delayed it by 30 minutes. But 1 course and 1 round of drinks in two hours is atrocious. It put a downer on what was a good evening. Next time I'd rather go to somewhere that has average food but we can stay long enough to have more than a...
