The village Cafe — Restaurant in England

We walked past this cafe and it seemed welcoming, all the staff were in Christmas attire so we thought we would try it. We sat down at a table and the waitress asked us what we would like to eat, we explained we only just arrived and hadn’t looked at the menu yet, she walked off and came back 60 seconds later, again we told her we hadn’t had chance to look at the whole menu, we felt rushed and it certainly wasn’t service with a smile. Fast forward, we ordered and ate, the waitress took one of our plates away before the rest of us had finished, and then took the next plate before we could even put the cutlery down. We came here for Sunday breakfast. First time using this place. We were greeted warmly by a friendly lady who took our orders. I asked for extra hot beans as for me lukewarm warm beans ruins a breakfast.

Four breakfasts ordered. All arrived piping hot, correct orders and super hot beans. Delicious food. Clean environment. Love that you can physically see the chef cooking. It smelt clean and not of dirty chip fat.

As soon as my mother and I walked in, we felt completely unwelcome. The lady behind the counter was unapproachable and unprofessional. Her food safety practices were concerning she had poor hand hygiene and was touching food with bare hands right after handling pens and notepads. What shocked me even more was the fridge not only was there a vape inside, but also stationary items and even perfume.
