Taj Mahal — Restaurant in England

To begin, we didn’t realise how much we loved Indian food until we visited the Taj Mahal in Kington, we were looking to move to the area and decided we would try the restaurant one evening, the service was extremely friendly and delivered with a smile, the food was extremely fresh and cooked perfectly, we have tried plenty of Indian restaurants before and the care and service provided here was so much better than we have ever experienced.

3 month down the line and we relocated to Lyonshall, we were delighted to hear the Taj Mahal, we’re more than happy to deliver to us, so pretty much every Saturday we get the beautiful food delivered, always on time, always delivered with a smile.....and most importantly always perfectly fresh steaming hot and most enjoyable Indian food we have ever tasted...so much that I don’t think we would ever try another Indian Restaurant.

We have even tried things off the menu we wouldn't ordinarily try.

Even through lockdown, the staff at the Taj Mahal did everything in there power to keep serving the beautiful food for delivery while going out of there way to adhere completely to the government guidelines at the time.

If your in the Kington area, I would highly advise you try the Taj Mahal for yourself, I’m sure you will be...

We've had a few takeaways from here, and while they are ok, they're not special. The menu is quite limited but there's generally something to suit most people I would've thought. The food is alright, but the portion sizes are small which is disappointing. And the sizes of the naan bread are laughable, so much so my hubby refuses to order them anymore as he feels cheated! The curries and sides are also quite watery to be honest. Also, despite always collecting on time, the food is never hot and we have to put it in the oven before eating. Like I say, the food isn't bad, but it is disappointing and could be so much better. Most recently, there was a curl of metal in one of the curries, the type you sometimes get when opening a can with a tin opener, so that's far from ideal, but I do accept, this can happen to anybody. Hubby has tried lamb dishes a few times now and the lamb is always tough, so he won't do that again. In summary, it's alright, but there are much better restaurants out there, if you can be...

An extremely good Indian takeaway. We are incredibly lucky to have such a cracking takeaway in a relatively small town like Kington. The ordering process is excellent with a very good website where you can place orders and they also offer home delivery which is a blessing for someone like me with restricted mobility. I have not eaten inside the restaurant but apparently it is very good with a friendly atmosphere and equally excellent service.

We have eaten a range of dishes from chicken to lamb and pork and have never had a bad experience. Staff will cook orders to your preference if you would like things more or less spicy which is always good showing everything is cooked fresh to order. Can't recommend this restaurant enough. Try...
