Tamarind Restaurant Spondon — Restaurant in England

OMG... Just got back from another great night at the Tamarind. Today we arrived early (Never early) and the boys greated us with welcoming smiles and friendly banter. It was a pleasure to see the boss (Ali) and the original boys back in the restaurant due to this restaurant being alot more better than the other restaurant in Cannock 😁😉 (Which is so worth a visit btw). Today I was with my 7 month baby and meeting friends and children. The service I received from the boys was superb, as always. They got me a high chair for the baby and even provided the baby with food for her to try. I love it here, they like children and allow them into the restaurant and will take there time to make the children feel comfortable too. I spent 3 hours here tonight. Not because the service is slow as previous comments have said but because the staff do not rush and allow customers to relax and enjoy their time in this great restaurant, Tamarind. The boys have great knowledge of the menu and will provide recommendations and cater for your needs. When arriving they asked if my baby had any allergies, very attentive to detail. Food fresh, hot and the flavours are to die for. Tonight I had a shashlik (Not my normal choice) which was out of this world. The meat was tender, juicey and flavoursome. This is now my new favourite. When looking round the restaurant, it's busy and the boys always appear to be busy but calm and always smiling and caring towards each customer. Several times I looked up to staff having a conversation and laughing with customers. Can't get better service than this anywhere. The boys are great 😁 I love the touch of a drink for the road and a chocolate. Even the children had little drink for road (non alcoholic obvs). This should be the number 1 Restaurant in Derby. Restaurant is clean and nicely decorated, the staff work hard and provide a great service, the food is mouth watering and full of flavours. My girlfriend and I, went on a date to the tamarind and received odd service compared to other guests without reason. We are both 17 and we have been to many places and never been treated unfairly or dissimilar to other customers until tonight. We had just sat down ordered two small soft drinks, we had no tone and were excited as we heard great things about the place. When they asked us for our order they seemed inpatient and rather rude compared to everyone else. I had asked rather simple questions like how expensive are the popadoms and the answer was “did you look at the menu”. This could have been a mistake of tone but it made us feel pressured and anxious to order. We aren’t the most confident speakers and tend to stutter but everywhere we’ve been have been more than patient and treated us like every other guest. Most of the staff seemed to dismiss us, it wasn’t majorly busy and everyone had been sat and taken care of. The food was well cooked and for the price was not bad at all, but it was rather sickly and we could’ve gotten similar results if we just cooked it at home from at packet. They also don’t take card and say that there’s a “problem” with the machine however it was not something that they thought they should tell us until we showed up at the door. Overall the money we spent was not worth it when we could have gone to much better places for similar prices. We ordered food from this place , it was our first time ordering food , but I'm afraid we will never order food from this place again , we ordered vegetarian samosas but i got sent meat samosas when we rang them up we was told they would send Somemore out , but then rang to say they that we are to far out so they would give us a discount on next order , no choice but I am a vegetarian then rang again said he had spoken to the chef saying they was not meat making us feel like we was lying. My partners food was bad aswell he ordered shami kebabs and clearly did not get what he ordered , the hole experience was simply awful , and my rice was so oily so we paid for samosas and ended up with none , but to be honest I really would not trust any food from there ever again , I have been a vegetarian all my life so I know they was not vegetarian samosas I do not recommend eating from that place , all night me and my partner was very poorly and the next day we was still feeling I'll, thanks slot for making us...
