Tea cake max — Restaurant in England

I class myself as a bit of a cafe expert, I'm a keen cyclist and spend lots of time in them... So what's my idea of the perfect cafe??? Small, very friendly, quality food, exceptional value... You'll get all this at the Fantastically named "Tea Cake Max"... I'm originally from the area but now live in Yorkshire and called in whilst on holiday visiting family... You get a lovely welcome from Maxine who by the way will never be rich charging the small tariffs she does for her delicious menu...I had a lovely cheese/mushroom flan followed by a massive slice of delicious chocolate cake with ice cream...nom nom... My dog Tillie (dogs welcome) had a sausage...I was even allowed to pick up the cafes guitar and sing a song.. Unfortunately I'm going to miss the famous great value Sunday lunches as I'm going home the day before... Wish I could move this cafe to Yorkshire so I could call in every...

The most splendid food stop within miles. It’s just up from the Dene in Holywell if you are cycling and there is ample parking nearby and some outside. It is run with passion by the amazing Maxine for whom good quality and best value go hand in hand.
