Right, time for me to finally do a review - can’t believe I’ve not written one before, considering how often I rave on to anyone who’ll listen about the amazing Sunday lunches at The Milbourne Arms! Honestly, I’ve been here more times than I can count, and it’s always spot on.

My usual fave is the Steak and Guinness pie on a Sunday - fit for Desperate Dan himself 🐮 (you need to be of a certain vintage to get that reference šŸ˜‚). I’ve even been known to take half home because the portions are massive. Hands down, the best pie ever.

Now, my husband usually goes all in with the quad of meats - and let me tell you, it’s unreal. Proper feast territory. But today we both decided to behave and went for the lighter options šŸ˜‰ (well, lighter for us anyway).

The Sunday lunches? Award-worthy. And rightly so — I’ve just seen The Milbourne crowned the second best place for a Sunday Roast in the North East, which is some achievement!

Now, I could make your mouth water describing the tender, juicy meats, the perfectly roasted root veg, the crisp green veggies, and the cauliflower cheese that could easily rival my own homemade version šŸ§€ (don’t tell them I said that). Honestly, who needs to cook at home when this level of deliciousness is just down the road?

They’ve even got modest portions for smaller appetites, which I think is a lovely touch. Our latest visit was the Roast Beef with all the trimmings — pure heaven. And don’t get me started on the deconstructed apple crumble… that’s a whole other love story. ā™„ļø

Don't go anywhere else but here! We came here for dinner and had the fish finger sandwich and the pulled pork sandwich. Both served in either baguette or ciabbatta. We had one of each. They came with chips and coleslaw, absolutely gorgeous food and we were seated in the Stables which is the section that is dog friendly along with the beer garden. As it was midweek and in the middle of the day we were the only ones in the Stables. Once we had our food and drinks the lady said let your dog off the lead so he can wander around and shut the door so Ozzy had some freedom which was appreciated. We then booked for the following Friday evening for an evening meal. I had the lamb shank and my husband had the steak pie. Again amazing food and service. I could not recommend this place enough especially if you are looking for somewhere to eat with a dog. The best place we have been to...

Was at the Milbourne on Sunday for lunch with my wife and in laws. Having been a regular visitor here for the last couple of years and can say the food is always first class. However the time it takes to get your meal now has put me off and I'll not be back. We were in the pub over two hours on Sunday which is absolutely ridiculous. Having waited over twenty minutes for our dinner we ordered deserts and had to wait fourty minutes before we got them. I actually had to ask the staff member what had happened and she told me they had a large party of twenty in the rear part of the bar. Fine but why not tell us and give us the option of leaving. I honestly nearly lost the will to live waiting. This has been the third time we've had this wait and unfortunately it was the final straw. People haven't got the time to be hanging around like this between courses. Sorry but I'll...

A delicious Sunday roast today I ordered the trio of meats (beef brisket, pork belly and chicken) for Ā£18, the beef was definitely my favourite of the 3. It was a really generous portion with loads of meat. It came served with roasted carrot and parsnip, mash, roasties, crackling, a massive Yorkshire pudding, stuffing and sides of green veg and cauliflower cheese. I dont think you could have gotten much more on the plate, good value for money and absolutely delicious. My highlights were probaly the Yorkshire, beef and the swede. I'll definitely be going back here to try their main menušŸ˜šŸ«¶

The first time I've eaten here. It certainly won't be the last. My friend and myself were welcomed warmly by a lovely waitress. She took our drinks order, our dinner order. I had the belly pork, cooked perfectly. My friend had the steak and mushroom pie with handcut skin on fries . Both portions were extremely generous. The food was hot and flavourful . A 5* experience. We were very impressed
