I have been contemplating writing this review, however I feel it is necessary to add a review with my overall experience at this pub. I booked this venue to hold my fathers wake a few weeks ago. I was recommended by family and had several conversations with Shelly the owner which were pleasant and nice. Shelly greeted us on arrival with a warm welcome and apologised for our loss. We have a child in the group who has a severe nut allergy and Shelly dealt with this amazingly, she adapted the menu and cleaned all the pub to ensure no traces of peanuts, this was lovely.

Unfortunately that’s where the good experience ended. My overall involvement with the landlord was horrible he was rude and shouted at us that he’d had enough of us and then hid upstairs. (Once we had paid the bill)This was upsetting to be spoken to in this way. Yes we were drinking and yes we may have been a little loud sometimes but we were not rude, rowdy or unpleasant. We had just attended my fathers funeral we were celebrating his life. No empathy from him and such an unpleasant experience especially with the circumstances. Shelly was very apologetic regarding his behaviour however he would not apologise for his rude and aggressive manner. Due to this reason unfortunately I wouldn’t recommend or visit this pub again. This is such a shame as all the other bar staff were lovely, empathic...

Really nice country pub, and great if you are staying in one of the local hotels that may not serve food in the evenings. It is a very short 5 minute walk from The Poplars hotel, and serves food until 8:30pm. If you're eating a little later in the evening, best to ring ahead and make sure food will still be served.

I can guarantee a warm, hearty pub meal upon ordering. The pie is a proper pie, served in a dish encased totally in pastry. Desserts were nice, but again, if you're eating later in the evening, be prepared for a few of the desserts to be sold out.

All in all, just a really nice country pub, with a lovely warm and friendly atmosphere. Say hi to the dog! It's a lovely old timer and such a cute dog. Loves...

Visited today for lunch, one couple threatened to walked out after waiting so long for a meals , very unpleasant atmosphere, Waitress not trained in a flap. Meal came, they ate some, left. we ordered a light lunch, the portions so small it was smaller than a child's meal. Fish and chips. Should have sent it back, but we were visiting each other after a long time. I went to pay and mentioned the portions were so small, The chef, was leaning on the bar, and said well thats what you asked for. This was the size of a fish finger. I said This is smaller than a child's meal, Well you will know next time. Believe me there will ne...

Been impressed with the cleanliness of it. Lovely garden, lots of sunshades tables. Welcomed dogs. The food was at an reliable price and amazing taste. The girls had so much fun. Free parking (plenty of spaces available even on a crowded day). Will definitely recommend to families with children and to the paws owners ☺️🐶

I ordered ham, eggs, and chips. All food came out cold and took 45+ minutes to prepare. The chips were coated in salt and the eggs were not cooked properly and the egg white was everywhere (I nearly threw up). You should either shut down the business or hire new staff.
