We visited this pub for Motherās Day, aware that it had recently changed management, so we werenāt quite sure what to expect.
The staff were all very polite and welcoming. Our group of eight had pre-ordered our meals a couple of days in advance, which wasnāt a big inconvenience. Everyone enjoyed the meats (lamb, beef, and pork), but the rest of the meal fell short. The vegetables were cold, and the roast potatoes were dry possibly reheated and honestly quite awful, which was a letdown since theyāre usually my favorite part!
The Yorkshire pudding was just okay, not terrible, but a bit chewy. There was a mix-up with our bill, where someone elseās charges were added to our tab, but the bar staff resolved it without issue, so credit to them for that.
My wife ordered a large wine and was shocked to find it priced at £10! That felt a bit pricey, especially after a lackluster meal.
Overall, we had a decent Motherās Day, so thank you for that. Still, in my view, the food could use some...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreIt was once a regular for the family and friends. More recently the food has been awful, and we have all found other eating locations. Last night we opted to try again and we booked a table for 12. Sadly the experience was dreadful. Six persons food was cold and we asked it to be reheated. Unfortunately it was returned equally cold! The lamb chops were overcooked. The seafish pasta lacked seafood. The mushroom risotto was drowned in oil. Out of the party only two persons were happy with the food, one had a steak the other a pie. Needless to say much of the food was left and wasted. The young ladies serving were obviously inexperienced and needed reminding of such things as cutlery, plates and glasses for the water. Unfortunately unless investment is made in the kitchen it can only fail. It was certainly our last visit for the foreseeable future. Shame itās...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWe love the Telegraph! It was the first pub we explored when we decided we wanted to move to Moulton. We must say that the new Chef has also improved this place although it didnāt need improving. We arrived on a Sunday at about 4.30 quite tired after a long week and asked if we could get some food, the lovely chap behind the bar correctly explained unfortunately they had stopped serving food due to a busy busy day of roasts, however, the manager was there and he jumped in and said they would happily ask the chef to dish up some food for us which was so kind. We didnāt expect there would he anything left at the time we arrived so very grateful for the team squeezing us in. We canāt wait to introduce our family and friends to The Telegraph. Long term customers over here! Thanks to the team āŗļø....
