Went there this morning to have a breakfast with my partner and ordered a standard breakfast for me and a funky on toast for my partner (without chorizo oil).
First time it comes out filled with oil all over the plate and the bread soaked with oil then requested for it to be redone without oil and simply just the bread and the avocado spread with no oil what so ever. Lady walked okay saying yes acknowledging she understood the request so we waited for the 2nd plate which we had hoped would
2nd time plate comes back with what appears to be plate wiped off of the oil and still with the chorizo oil. Which my partner could not eat and at this point it was pretty annoying as the staff can’t follow a simple instruction and make a simple adjustment in the order!
Requested for the bill as we were no longer interested in the service or the food (unhealthy and oil soaked bread). Although the menu stated there’s chorizos oil we specifically requested that we didn’t want and at this point I requested for the bill and to my surprise the funky on toast was added to the bill even though they couldn’t get it done right..
Asked for that to be removed from the bill then was told that they couldn’t and asked to speak with a manager where we were told that we have to wait for 10 minutes and normally would just leave it and go and this time decided to speak with the manager and explain the situation (it simply isn’t about the money, this is our regular breakfast place and local to us) it’s about the fact that a simple request could be followed and got the menu wrong yet expecting us to pay for the meal even though it hadn’t been touched!
Waited for the manager to turn up which took over 25 minutes!
Was told that the manager couldn’t come due to traffic and was told that chorioz and chilli oil are two separate things. Which I did point that according to the menu it’s not as there is no comma separating the two. Which the lady did acknowledge that it was their mistake yet insisted that we pay for the full bill which I did not find okay in anyway! At the end it got to the point where the staff were trying to put the blame on us and was offering a 20% discount when I argued why I still need to pay for a meal that you couldn’t get right was told that it’s because they prepared it twice! Indicating that it’s my problem that I couldn’t get a simple menu instruction done for the 2nd time and when I explained that I will be writing a review regarding this which is my right I was told that it was my “Ego”
Never experienced such an awful service and absolutely disgusted and ruined our morning!
The fact that a simple instruction couldn’t be followed and had totally ruined our day well as the...
Read moreA friend of mine took me to this place today with her little one. She highly recommended it and suggested going for the Chicken and Waffles.
On entering the establishment, there were plenty of cooked breakfasts floating around, a nice amount of people and a great buzz in the air with individuals enjoying their food.
We were seated very quickly, food was ordered and before we knew it, food had arrived.
I had never had the buffalo sauce that they had created however, I would now highly recommend this. I also had a new Kit Kat milk shake that they have just added to the menu, which hit the spot with the chicken and waffles.
The staff were attentive and very kind towards the small human that was with us and spoilt him with some attention and a biscuit before our departure.
The food was reasonably priced for a cafe and I would definitely go there again if the occasion called for it.
Thank you and please keep up the...
Read moreWe enjoyed our first experience at The Avenue Deli. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The cafe is light and airy, and very clean and decorated very nicely. I had a prawn mayo sandwich and a mug if breakfast tea, and my other half had a Standard breakfast and a latte coffee. The food was presented very quickly, and we were asked if we were happy with the food. This isn't a cheap greasy spoon cafe, but a delightfully pleasant and friendly eatery. There are half a dozen parking spaces outside the row of shops, and when the weather is good, the cafe also has tables outside. I recommend a visit to The Avenue Deli, Royal...
