The Butcher's is always such a welcoming pub; friendly, down-to-earth and good-humoured. Today we ate there too, and I can honestly say that the value for money was exceptional. We had the best cod and chips EVER, alongside the tastiest homemade tartare sauce, which added to the overall complement of flavours. The white chocolate and pistachio cheesecake was the perfect dessert for me. My husband shared a similar sentiment with his sticky toffee pudding. Seriously, you won't be disappointed. Tonks, Caz and staff are tip top!

If you're looking for a classic pub experience in Yaton, this is the place to be. It’s the most traditional pub I’ve ever visited, with a warm and welcoming atmosphere. The food was absolutely scrumptious—freshly cooked and packed with flavor. The staff were incredibly friendly, making the visit even more enjoyable, and the local patrons were equally kind and inviting. It’s a lovely spot with honest prices, perfect for a cozy meal or just to soak in the authentic pub vibe. Highly recommended!

A great pub that gets me away from the hotel. The staff are friendly the beer (Fallen Tree) is great and the food (Steak Night) was so well cooked (medium rare) and very tasty.. Highly recommended and I look forward to my next visit.

Not a great experience.... Heard really great things about this place, especially the food so decided to try it as it's on our doorstep pretty much. Phoned up to book a table for two, they fitted us in fine..... Got there at allocated time, absolutely ZERO organisation and were shown to a small dirty table with 1 chair, said chair was broken and very dangerous, so I fixed it myself. We both ordered Rare steak and waited approx 40 minutes for them, steak arrived medium rare with a stack of oily mushrooms on top... The steaks had a layer of char on them and was were horrible.... This wasn't the char cooked into the steak by the way, as I could remove it in bits from the top, it was char stuck to it from previous cooks on the griddle..... The whole thing left a horrible taste in our mouths. I went to say we wouldn't be eating them and the "cook" then gets very defensive and says "that's how they're supposed to be".... not being funny, but I know how to cook a steak and clean a griddle.... After saying its clearly the griddle being dirty, she then back tracks and says "actually, yeah, the griddle has taken a beating this evening"..... Fair play to the lady owner though, she comped our drinks with no fuss, even after I offered to pay for them.... I sincerely hope they get another top class chef through the doors and soon, as they'll not get very far with this particular "chef/cook".... We will give it another try when and if they get a great chef, but unfortunately not before. Sorry for the negative review, but I have to tell it like it is.... and people should also be made aware that the previous chef has now left and the food is nowhere near...

We left the M5 today in search of some lunch and came across the Butchers Arms. There was a carpark just a few meters from the pub that offered free parking which was ideal. From the outside you just might drive on by but this is one place that shouldn’t be judge by the exterior. Once through the door you entered a quaint pub that offers a warm welcome. Staff are lovely and were attentive throughout our visit but not overbearing. The menu is extensive and offers something for all tastes. We all had the beef and ale pie. The pie was homemade using high quality ingredients but what really was outstanding was the taste. It truly was delicious. The pie was full of lean and tender steak. We certainly were not disappointed ! We actually felt the meal was underpriced for the standard of food. You can tell the owners are genuinely nice people and want to provide excellent food without ripping people off .We would have no hesitation in recommending this place and would say if you are in the area take the time to visit and support...

We’d booked for a family meal but were abruptly told when we sat down that a mistake had been made and the kitchen was in fact intended to be closed. The member of staff serving us emphasised she had been made to come in especially to accommodate us for two hours (making us feel guilty/as if it was our fault). We were told several items weren’t available and we were happy to be flexible. The food was nice but the brisk reception was a mood killer. It would have been better to call us to tell us that a mistake had been made, so we could have made other plans and avoided...
