The Cake Shop Putnoe — Restaurant in England

We came in for lunch today and the atmosphere of the shop was lacking so much joy for a cake shop. No music, no service, and the food was nothing to drool over. It was as if we were intruding by coming in. Maybe consider putting calm music on to break the silence in the cafe, felt like we were in a library. Your servers lacked so much pleasantry- cashier didn't really smile or even say "hi how are you" and the barista (helper) looked like she could use some caffeine herself to put a pep in her step. So sad to have a local cafe with no service with a smile, or any sort of a happy vibe. Hope you’ll reconsider changing some things for the better especially being a small family owned business, you'd want returning customers. My review is based on customer service only as didn't have the chance to try and food or drinks. It was 15:10 when enteted with my daughter to treat her cake and hot drink however ,the girl behind the counter told me they are closing at 16:00 (40 min after I entered ) and she can only serve take away 😳 and the coffee machine is cleaned already (during your opening times ) I was pretty shocked ......why do you keep your door open and advertise your coffee shop is open till 4pm ??? Food is ok, nothing special that I would go out of my way to buy. The choice of produce does not cater to everyone. I often get some sausage rolls and vegetarian options for my colleagues at work. Every time I went, there were no veggie options at all and staff seemed to be offended by my enquiry.
